MMCXII Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 A Farewell to Kings! Maybe partly because when I hear the birds I can hear Geddy and Al recalling how nice it was recording that album in the countryside 2
Eel Yddeg Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 Other great intros includeCygnus X-1- A great eerie feeling created from the spoken monologue with the synth sounds.Hemispheres- Love the way it just comes bursting out at you2112- The synth noises are a perfect way to start the songFinding My Way- Great opener riff, really gets you going, would be a great live openerAnthem- Same hereBastille Day- Again. 1
thirteen Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Stick it out.... Not. But seriously The spirit of Radio is IMO a fantastic intro. One of the best song intro's ever written. 1
Empty Mindless Spectre Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 As a opposite of Best song ending, here are the beginnings that start the song with a bang. For me, the absolute winner is the intro of XanaduSpirit of Radio is a close second.Post yours. I think you nailed it with these two. It's really tough not to go with TSOR, but the intro to Xanadu is just so creative and artistically beautiful, it is second to none. I also agree with many of the others already named, Book I: The Voyage, 2112, Between the Wheels, Digital Man, Hemispheres. And I'll also add Leave That Thing Alone, Witch Hunt, and Finding my Way.

Slack jaw gaze Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I don't think anyone mentioned The Anarchist which is kind of hard to believe.
Segue Myles Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I don't think anyone mentioned The Anarchist which is kind of hard to believe. I only like that it ends 1

HemiBeers Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Bastille Day and it's bastard child brother, Headlong Flight. 2
Northerner Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 No matter how many times I've heard it, the opening of "Working Man" always fills me with a sense of anticipation and excitement. Another one that has that same effect on me is "The Enemy Within."
