ILS- I was the same with Priest as you were with Maiden!

I've loved Maiden since the '80s...knew a lot of people who loved both of them, but I never, ever got into Judas Priest until a year ago, or a little more.

Absolutely.

One day when ive totally burned out on Maiden I will give recent Priest a smash or two

Priest.

I love AC/DC, they were the first band I collected every album from with my own money. But overall, they can get slightly boring if you listen to them too often. I don't get that with most of Priest's output. They're the originators of the metal sound have a better variety musically and are overall much better songwriters.

At the later stage of both their careers, Priest is still writing great material that holds up well with to their old stuff. While AC/DC's more recent albums have been good, they've got nothing on what they did from High Voltage through Back In Black.

Also, Priest has Rob fukkin Halford :haz:

AC/DC. Pretty obvious with a Bon Scott avatar.

Priest are still a kick-ass band and Halford's singing is legendary.

Priest, if only for the Ripper era... ;)

Priest, if only for the Ripper era...

Cheeky bastard lol.

Q: We all know that you and the guys were on tour with AC/DC back in 1979 during the Highway To Hell European tour. My question to you is how it was to be on tour with Angus and Co and especially with the late legendary Bon Scott. Any memories about him? Does any photos exist with Priest and AC/DC together?

Downing: "The tour you mentioned with AC/DC was one of my most cherished memories. The guys were great to us, they even let us ride with them on long journeys as they had a huge bus and we only had a small van. Bon was a total gentleman his dedication to his fans was second to none.

AC/DC and Judas Priest tour 1979. That would have kicked major-ass.

Loved AC/DC back then... Priest was cool, too.

Funny thing is, AC/DC has really fallen off for me while Priest has gotten stronger. Will always have respect for AC/DC whether I get back to them or not.

The Bon Scott Years are bloody brilliant. Johnson is a great guy but he doesn't belong in AC/DC. Rob Halford is a HEAVY METAL GOD! No one can touch him vocally. Mercury perhaps.

JUDAS PRIEST BLOWS AC/DC AWAY!!!!

NO COMPARISON!

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK WE POLLUTE YOU!!!!!!!!!

AC/DC, for sure. Especially Bon era, and the first four Brian efforts.

Now I want to listen to Flick of the Switch... join me?

Killer album, no matter what the Brian bashers say!

The Duck will even have your back. This album sucks ass!

Please, don't "RAM IT DOWN" my throat.

All Brian Johnson AC/DC albums blow cock.

Just like the overplayed and overrated "Back In Ball Sack."

This thread is like comparing a solid gold apple to an unpolished turd with undigested corn in it.

Yeah, "Sink The Pink!" What a great song. "Fly On My Balls."

"Thunderfukk." One hit wonder album.

Ripping Post Bon Era AC/DC is easier than doing my ABC's.

So to bring this back to the topic. I saw AC/DC a few months ago at AT&T Park. I actually thought they were fantastic.

Young's solo was fuckking amazing!!! BLOWN AWAY! Brian's vocals were spot on.

That being said I just saw the Metallica set list for Saturday at AT&T. Thank GOD I didn't waste my time watching that crap.

They only played one song off of "Kill Em All."

They played "Creeping Death" and a few other Burton Era songs but otherwise complete CRAP!!!

I officially HATE Metallica.

AC/DC blows them away.

"The Curse Of Cliff Burton" will live on until time ends.

If I ever hear "Fuel" again I will stab my ear drums with rusty ice picks.

JUDAS PRIEST BLOWS ALL OF THESE BANDS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

"SIN AFTER SIN!"

Signed,

SIMON PHILLIPS

PS: I had a meet and greet with Simon at Yoshi's in Oakland many months ago.

I asked him about the recording of "Sin After Sin." He talked about it for five minutes!!!! I was blown away!!!

Everything they recorded was live. No bullshit man.

When KK or Tipton played their parts the whole fuckking studio vibrated.

JUDAS PRIEST = HIGH VOLTAGE HEAVY METAL!!!!

I'm sure this will come as no surprise, but I very much prefer Judas Priest. It's not even close. I don't dislike AC/DC; they were a childhood staple and I can enjoy them, but typically a few songs at a time rather than a marathon.

Hahaha! Hey Bean! I knew you would type this! PRIEST!!!!

I would rather listen to "Marathon" by RUSH 1000 times than anything by Brian Johnson.

If you move to Brazil, you´ll struggle to stay maried just the same, Earl...too many "Pretty Maids". It´s "Sin after Sin"! Just hold one of your "Big Balls" and very soon you´ll be able to "Sink the Pink".

Allright, I´m done with those for today.

Check that Metallica setlist again Earl.

It included Creeping Death, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Ride The Lightning, Sanitarium, One, Master Of Puppets, Battery and Fade To Black.

I don't know about anyone else, but I would be very happy if I saw them and got all those songs. Yeah, the rest of the set was all big hits but it was a stadium show. It's very common for a band to play a lot of their more well known songs in the larger venues like that.

Metallica rotates several songs in each set. When I saw them in 2009, they played No Remorse and Phantom Lord. They don't ignore the first album live, it just wasn't Kill Em All's night at this show that's all.

Fair enough my friend. I was impressed that they opened with "Creeping Death!!!!"

Look I loved Metallica. I loved Dream Theater. I just didn't like the musical direction they took. Well I do like the last two DT albums. "Death Magnetic" was actually a good effort too.

I know I sound like a hypocrite but man after "Master Of Puppets" forget it!

RIP CLIFF BURTON!!!!
