Very sad to lose such a brave member of The KISS Army...Rest in Peace Dilan.

Very kind of Gene Simmons to visit him.

Here's a statement from the hospital...

Note from Children's Hospital of Nevada Last week,

One of our patients, Dilan Kohn got his final wish. The critically ill 17-year old desperately wanted to meet and hang out with the infamous Gene Simmons from the band "KISS". Mr. Simmons had not only been Dilan's idol, but also his inspiration growing up. A big UMC thanks to the PICU Nursing staff along with the Child Life Specialist, Sarah Castiel, in making this wish possible. Mr. Simmons was sent an email request last Thursday afternoon and flew into Vegas the next morning. He showed up with a big bag full of signed memorabilia just for Dilan. The two hung out, shared stories and laughed together for well over an hour while staff looked on with tears in their eyes. Thank you Mr. Simmon's for making this wish come true just in time. Unfortunately Dilan passed away peacefully a couple days later.

Having been through a similar experience with my daughter, I can relate to how Dilan felt meeting one of his heroes. All the pain of the terrible disease disappeared for him and his family for those short couple of hours. I am just grateful that my daughters outcome was different. She is now 8 years clear and in her last semester of grad school.

RIP Dilan. I am praying for peace and healing for his family.

So glad to hear that your daughter is healthy, JD.

Amen.

RIP

I have always known in my heart and soul that Gene is a sweet human being. I love him. I will always love him.

I am assuming that most people don't care for Gene's solo album back in 1978. They probably laugh at his cover of "Wish Upon A Star."

Well a beautiful child made a last wish, and Gene was his STAR.

It's so easy to figure out. Gene is the MAN.
