Yearbook RUSH Lyric

Hey guys. I've been inactive for a while on the forum for reasons related to an overdose of schoolwork, which is actually - paradoxically - what brings me here once more!

By the end of the school year, everyone will have a yearbook. In that yearbook, we each have to write a quote, summing us up, and I figured, what better to do than to use a Rush lyric??

Also, who better to ask for suggestions than the Rush Forum family?

So, (cold) fire away with your suggestions for which Rush lyric I should use for my yearbook quote! Many thanks in advance!

My bro graduated in '85 and quoted Analog Kid, "When I leave I don't know..." well, you know how it goes.

A classmate of mine ('90) quoted Between The Wheels.

The BLAH BLAH BLAH Lifeson quote won't have the same effect.

Between the wheels is an interesting option, do you remember what part?

Yeah, I was just too lazy to type it all because I'm eating now.

It was the entire 2nd stanza from "To live between..." to "...holding onto yesterdays"

I might pick that. Without interrupting your meal, any other suggestions?

Somehow I didn't use a Rush lyric for my yearbook. I should've. I might've gone with any number of lines from Time Stand Still (thoughtful yet down to earth lyrics IMHO)...but then again, I just wanted to get the hell out of there!

The key, the end, the answer

Stripped of their disguise

Still it's all confusion

And tears spring to my eyes

Though I've reached a signpost

It's really not the end

Like Old Sol behind the mountain

I'll be coming up again

Short and classic from Best I Can on the Fly By Night album-

"Got my sights on the stars

Won’t get that far

But I’ll try anyway"

It is one of the tunes written totally by Geddy. Hey, it was good luck for him! :D

Fly by night away from here, change my life again, fly by night good-bye my dear, my ship isn't coming and I just can't pretend. :)

Or to quote another song about Neil's "off to England" experiment:

Sometimes in confusion, I felt so lost and disillusioned

Innocence gave me confidence to go up against reality

We can walk our road together

If our goals are all the same.

We can run alone and free

If we pursue a different aim.

Let the truth of love be lighted,

Let the love of truth shine clear.

Sensibility, armed with sense and liberty,

With the Heart and Mind united in a single perfect Sphere.

My dad wrote "When I leave I don't know what I'm hoping to find, and when I leave I don't know what I'm leaving behind".

My bro wrote the same. Maybe your dad is my bro which means I'm your uncle. I may even have a country place that no one knows about.
