Jimmy Page has a new band and tour for 2016. A new album too.

$100 says that won't happen.

Led Zep's my favorite band, and I've heard the same old stuff form Page for years.

His star shone brighter than a thousand suns for a short period of time (see what I did there) but sadly it has gone out.

Yeah. Watching jimmy in the song remains the same is just amazing. Just a total bad ass. None more cool at the time.

A few good tunes with the firm but it seems the well has gone dry.

Tedeschi Trucks Band

Devendra Banhart

Laura Marling

Courtney Barnett

The Temperance Movement

Chris Robinson Brotherhood

Haken

Astra

Almost all of the above have had at least two albums since 2010.

Is that new enough?

I could probably think of more, too.

Courtney Barnett is awesome! Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit is probably my favorite album of 2015. Just got tickets to see her in Chicago in April, can't wait!

Here are some other bands I really like that put out a new album this year:

Alabama Shakes

Beirut

The Dead Weather

Death Cab for Cutie

The Decemberists

Father John Misty

Jim O'Rourke

Kurt Vile

Mac DeMarco

Martin Courtney

My Morning Jacket

Natalie Prass

Silversun Pickups

Sufjan Stevens

Tame Impala

Wilco

Gunship

Karnivool

Halestorm (allegedly together since 1997, but the debut came out in 2009, soooooo)

Rise Against (together since 1999. I'm pushing it a little)

Huh. I need to look for more stuff. The hard thing about new bands is that they just flat out don't have a lot of stuff, and therefore you can't say you "listen to" them because overplaying one or two albums gets old and you kinda forget about it until the next one comes out, if ever. "Listening" to a band is naturally going to skew towards already well-established acts, I find.

The thread is about new bands you listen to, not new-to-you bands.

These bands are from 2000 and after

Which was literally a lifetime ago for you.
