Blue J Posted April 6, 2016 Share Posted April 6, 2016 My son had his first football practice tonight, with teammates who are all older than he is...he was really apprehensive and shy about being around them, because he's the youngest on the team. And in middle school, just one year of difference, 7th grade versus 6th, is a big deal for a lot of kids. He was worried that he wasn't going to be any good because "they're all more experienced"...and that they wouldn't accept him. I told him he was just as good as they are, and he had nothing to worry about, but he didn't believe me. That was a couple of days ago. But then I watched him start to play tonight- he ran all of his routes correctly, he caught every pass...he was better than some of the other receivers...I saw him high-fiving with a couple of guys, and he was smiling...
