goose
Golden State goes full Pleasantville to close the 3rd quarter. Bombs from Curry, of course, but the topper was Poole, with the clock winding down, crossing half court, shaking the D by going behind the back, and getting the splash with the red light on. goose
Wow, what a game. Boston comes out with chest up/no help responsibility defense to shut down Curry, and do so. But Wiggins and Thompson come through with 26 and 21. On a night when Golden State shoots just 9 of 40 from 3pt range, the Warriors get 50 pts in the paint (to Boston's 36), 9 steals ( to Boston's 2), and only 6 turnovers ( to Boston's 18). As a result, tonight it was the Celtics complaining about the officials' no calls.

And after losing Klay Thompson for two years. A great series, really, slightly marred at times by the sloppy play of a young Celtics team. But Boston also showed a lot of strength and am ability to dominate, so nothing to hang their heads about

goose
Statistically the two teams were pretty close except in two key areas. Though 3pt shooting % was near identical, Golden State attempted & sank eight more than Boston (19 vs 11 made). The Warriors forced 22 Celtic turnovers vs 15 of their own, which was pretty much the story of each of Golden State's four wins. Congrats to Curry finally getting the MVP award. goose
Where does Golden State's four titles in eight years rank with other NBA dynastic achievements? The 50s Minneapolis Lakers won five titles in six years and the 80s LA Lakers won five titles in nine years. The 90s Bulls won it all six out of eight years. People sometimes forget that the Popovich/Duncan San Antonio Spurs won five titles over a 15-year span. The pinnacle of course is Boston's eleven titles in thirteen years, including eight straight. edhunter
Jayson Tatum showed that he was just not ready for prime time in this series. Here in MA many are referring to him as Tuukka Tatum.
