Fordgalaxy
Is there anything more rock and roll than "anybody wants to get mellow you can turn around and get the f**k outta here" No. However is there anything less rock and roll than ted jamming with mike huckabee... Playing saxamaphone with Bill Clinton comes to mind.

troutman
It's funny how artists who spout mindless liberal blather, truly understanding none of it, don't get the blowback Ted receives for his politics. Double Live Gonzo SHOULD be required listening. Ted was a fantastic no frills rocker.I doubt I agree with them either. I don't know, but my point is more whether you can think of one such artist as readily as you likely think of Ted and conservatism?Bono & economic liberalism? Sinead O'Connor and religious liberalism? Bruce Springsteen and social liberalism? Barbra Streisand and feminist liberalism? But none of them are ridiculed for those views the way Ted is. Let's throw, That idiot Bon Jovi in as well.
Mr. JD
I saw Ted for the first time in 1975 when Rush opened for him during the "down the tubes" tour in Akron Ohio. I thought he was great. Saw him 9 times more after that. A great showman and guitar player.

Lucas
Front row, Pine Knob, 2013... one of the great concert experiences of my life! His "politics" are easily ignored but the Motor City Mad Man is still one of the hottest guitar players and showmen around! I wish I had seen him long ago but it felt like the current Ted is every bit the stage presence that he was in his younger days...Rock ON!!! http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z33/bfwgjma/Ted%20Nugent%202013%20Pine%20Knob%202Aug/IMG_4202_zps5222fb3a.jpg http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z33/bfwgjma/Ted%20Nugent%202013%20Pine%20Knob%202Aug/IMG_4237_zps00167846.jpg http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z33/bfwgjma/Ted%20Nugent%202013%20Pine%20Knob%202Aug/IMG_4247_zps49d54774.jpg http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z33/bfwgjma/Ted%20Nugent%202013%20Pine%20Knob%202Aug/IMG_4278_zps4fefda44.jpg http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z33/bfwgjma/Ted%20Nugent%202013%20Pine%20Knob%202Aug/IMG_4110_zpsddd3a24b.jpg great pics

Lucas
Uncle Ted was right up there with KISS, Aerosmith, RUSH, Thin Lizzy and AC/DC for me back in the day . . As a kid who didn't feel comfortable in school and had trouble acclimating, I remember feeling comfort knowing that Ted was not reliant or did not glorify the use of drugs and alcohol, and I admired that .. when every other kid seemed to be getting into that, I just didn't feel it was a part of me, so when guys like Ted or Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons spoke about abstaining from drugs and alcohol, I felt a bond ( ... this was when I was 10 to 15 or 16 ) I love Ted's music from then, and while I don't agree with all of what he has to say - the fact of the matter is that I don't have to agree with all of what someone says ... I think he is sincere in his positions, which is OK in my book I just wish he'd never have written Jailbait . . Lucas
Straying from Ted for a minute, but somewhat related - Are there artists or people who have done things in their personal life that have completely lost you, despite the fact that you once enjoyed their work ?? I have always loved Woody Allen, and truth be told, I don't think what he did was all that bad Roman Polanski, on the other hand, committed a serious offense - but I still can't help but love The Tenant, Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby . . RUSHHEAD666
It is hard to understand how someone with that manic, disjointed personality ever had the discipline to learn guitar or read books. I don't agree with his politics but he's an interesting guy. I LOVE TED! CAPS ON! BUT EVEN I'M NOT THAT FAR TO THE RIGHT!!! However, I always choose the RIGHT WAY! We need to turn up "STORMTROOPIN'" and start kicking ISIS RIGHT IN THE ASS!
foghorn-leghorn
Politics aside, he was a fantastic entertainer in the 70's . Not sure there has ever been a guitarist with that kind of stage persona before or since. I must admit though, I was surprised he joined "Dam Yankees" after all those years as the "main man" as he had to share the spotlightwith Tommy Shaw and Jack Blades. Incidentally, those other 2 live albums you mentioned were also among the best of the 70's output.

OldRUSHfan
Been onto Ted since the Amboy Dukes days....still with him in the musical sense....Don't agree with all his politics, but respect his attitude and how far it's gotten him. His stand on Animal and nature conservation is RIGHT ON, and if you don't wanna listen to him, turn the whatever is playing him OFF. I've MET THE GUY, FACE TO FACE, and he's NOT like what the MEDIA make him out to be. He plays a part, and why I don't know, unless he believes that shit about ANY publicity is GOOD. He's a normal person, and not a crazy person as is perveyed a lot by the MEDIA. BOTH OF MY CHILDREN wanted to, and DID go to his "KAMP FOR KIDS" program here in Michigans Thumb area, and both still use stuff taught to them there. The second wife and I got to talk with him and I shook his hand. Not overly aggressive or talking loudly, had nothing to prove to anyone. His attitude in normal life is EXCELLENT. Think always that what you see is what the MEDIA WANT YOU TO SEE. It's not necessarily the TRUTH. A lot of it is an act to provoke the very things you're thinking....
