Live & Let Die.

This one has got more votes than I expected and it's the joint leader with Casino Royale.

I'm guessing the Live & Let Die popularity (though 3 votes currently isn't really that significant) is also helped by the song AND the fact that they used to play the hell out of it in on tv (before everyone had cable) in the late 70s...stateside at least.

I like it because I like New Orleans, Yaphet Kotto, Jane Seymour, Sheriff J.W. Pepper and it's a good Bond flick in general.

Well, IMHO it IS Moore's best Bond flick...yeah, New Orleans and the ever beautiful Jane Seymour. Best Bond film overall though? Not sure about that.

Well I actually like The Man with the Golden Gun even more, you've got Christopher Lee as maybe the best Bond villain of all, Tattoo from Fantasy Island, Britt Ekland when she was hot, Maud Adams Sheriff JW Pepper again and a kind of Enter the Dragon feel to some of the scenes.

Don't remember that one. I saw it...though not since the late 70s probably

Oh you need to see that again, it's essential and it'll seem even better after watching those Brosnan ones.

I'm in the middle of Die Another Day but will have to finish it up later. But it got me thinking, Brosnan doesn't seem like he's actually able to beat people up except in fencing or some sanctioned sport with a referee. Looking at the other Bonds, I think Connery would kick my ass, Dalton would kick my ass, and Craig would kick my ass but he'd be bloodied up as he is after every 007 fight. As for Moore, I'd throw him out the window and take his martini.

Brosnan gets beaten up by Famke Janssen, that's all anyone needs to know about him, And Grace Jones intimidated Roger Moore, mind you he did take on Jaws and a few other tough guy types.

That's kind of what I'm thinking about Brosnan. He's going to get mauled in a fight that doesn't have a ref / judge. He just seems too...pretty. He's a model, he's no fighter. I believe Connery, Dalton, and Craig can pummel someone to unconsciousness because it's a job.

Aye, I'm not so sure about George Lazenby either.

It's actually a pretty good film, Telly Savalas is good as Blofeld and Diana Rigg is a feisty Bond girl.

Just finished Die Another Day. It's better than it's predecessor, The World Is Not Enough. Still though, it's not good: weak villains & an uninspired laser as their big gun. Things I liked: Bond being imprisoned & tortured for a year plus, a few decent stunts, AND Halle Berry was as hot as she ever was. So it wasn't a total waste. However, it wasn't enough. Some crap lines, predictable unfunny innuendo, and a soundtrack I wasn't into keep it below average.

Grade: D+

Interesting that 20 members have voted and the votes are all over the place. Connery was a good bond but the movies are just so dated and the bad guys tend to be a bit comical. Moore and brosnan are believable as the tux wearing, party bond but fall short in believability as tough guys. Dalton-touch guy yes, party bond no. This is why Craig is my overall favorite. Believable in both aspects with advantage of modern tech and (so far) better bad guys.

Halle is a beautiful woman for sure. Not a fan of her acting. She has bad rhythm Nd timing IMO. "Do you know what happens when a toad is struck by lightning? The same thing that happens to everything else." I know she didn't write that but the delivery of it makes it possibly the worst line in a movie ever.

I'd put her in front of a TV screen and make her watch 20 of Clint Eastwood's best films, of course then she'd start using the word "punk" all the time...

Skyfall,,

I thought Pierce was a great Bond but suffered from horrible scripts. He started off strong with Goldeneye , which was my favorite movie till Skyfall. But the other three were ridiculous..

Most of the films are entertaining.

It doesn't beat Zephrapm Cochran's line in Star Trek First Contact:

"So, you're all astronauts... on some kind of star trek?"

HAHA. One guy in the audience actually said "GROAN" out loud, it was funny as hell.

Honorable mention goes to Kevin Costner in Water World:

"Nothing's free in Water World!"

Hahahaha, so dumb,

Hahahaha, so dumb,

Yeah, those are all classic stupid lines even though not all of those movies themselves are stupid (like Waterworld!)

One of my favorite stupid lines AND deliveries was in the 80s fantasy film The Beastmaster...

A kid in awe of a ferocious black tiger standing next to Beastmaster, "Is he yours?" The Beastmaster, played by Marc Singer (trying to sound equally tough AND mysterious) cheesily says, "We fight together sometimes."

I have a lot of favorites, but I chose "Diamonds are Forever". Guy Hamilton is my favorite director, Sean Connery my favorite Bond and I loved the other characters in that one. The assasins, Mr. Kidd and Mr. Wint are hilarious. I liked Jill St. John as Tiffany Case. Also, Charles Grey is an awesome bad guy and is my favorite Blofeld.

For Your Eyes Only is another one of my favorites. Awesome skiing chase scene in that one with motorcycles and a bobsled run.

Live and Let Die, Man with the Golden Gun and The Spy who loved me are all great.

I miss the humor that I think is lacking in the Barbara Broccoli films. I still like them though. I really liked the last Daniel Craig movie.
