So many excellent movies, how to choose just one??

From Russia With Love is my all time favorite, followed closely by Goldfinger and then by The Spy Who Loved Me. I still tend to think of Sean Connery and Roger Moore as the "real" James Bonds; I know I need to update myself- my mom is in her 80's and keeps telling me how good Skyfall is!

Least favorite- Live and Let Die (too much voodoo, not enough plot otherwise); and Moonraker (pretty boring and just stupid in some parts).

Skyfall is a good movie. But I think Craig's Casino Royale was better. That Quantum one was boring enough to make me fall asleep in the cinema. These new Bond flicks are really enjoyable but they still don't feel like James Bond to me. I'm ok with that though.

GoldenEye. Love that movie to death.

Goldfinger was a very close second.

Got some kind of gold fetish have you? I suppose The Man with the Golden Gun is 3rd on your list. :eyeroll: :P

No, it isn't :P

MWTGG is good but not among my favorites.

Yeah Quantum is a boring mess, and I agree modern Bond flicks are more or less like random action thrillers, they don't have that old school Bond magic, that aura, they're just modern spy movies packaged as Bond films. And since they're not based on Fleming's books anymore and the Cold War spy era is long gone it's not surprising.

It's a match between Thunderball and Goldfinger

Live And Let Die my favourite with Roger Moore

Die Another Day with Pierce Brosnan

Jane Seymour (Live And Let Die) and Daniela Bianchi (From Russia With Love) my favourite Bond girls.

I also say the Casino Royale with Daniel Craig. (And Eva Green!).

I know what you all mean about the modern-era Bond movies being different...I don't care, though. Can't help it. That one is my favorite.

Le Chiffre in that movie is also possibly my favourite Bond villain.

I've got a soft spot for For Your Eyes Only.

Sure, Moore may have started to look too old with this one (I guess that's why it's one of the only Bond movies where he doesn't get laid in the first hour  ) but this is Roger Moore at his most gritty (kicking that car off the cliff)

It's cobbled together from a couple of short stories, from the book of the same name, and the scenes it takes from the book are handled pretty faithfully.

Live And Let Die just by a nose. I love so many of them. I am a Roger Moore Bond fan more than anything else although over the years I have come to enjoy the Connery Bond as well... :codger:

Le Chiffre was quite good and believable because he was simply about making money.

Favourite:For Your Eyes Only.

Good : Skyfall,Goldfinger,From Russia With Love,Live And Let Die,Dr.No,Goldeneye.

Worst Bond Film:Moonraker (Terrible. The scene when Bond escapes from Jaws on the cable car in Rio is ludicrous!)

Also thumbs up for Licence to Kill.Love the story for this one,Dalton as Bond is ok,and baddie Robert Davi is a total nutcase!

Partial thumbs up for A View to A Kill.Any film that has Christopher Walken in it is ok with me,and then there's Grace Jones too!

Best Song Title:

From Russia With Love.

Best Bond Girl:

Sophie Marceau (Electra King/The World Is Not Enough)

Best Bond Baddie:

Scaramanga/Oddjob/Jaws.

Looking forward to Spectre too!

Quick Bond story... I have a special place in my heart for The Spy Who Loved Me because way back when it came out I was an usher at a movie theater and I probably saw that film over the summer 30 times and knew all of the dialogue by heart. When I have seen the in the years since I still know most of it and can deliver the lines in the movie before the characters even say them. It's really not my favorite but it is one I can never forget....

One way to get around this while still pleasing newer fans is:

AFTER these Craig flicks are done and there's a new Bond actor, they could keep the gritty violence of these modern ones BUT put Bond in those Cold War spy days. Simply, a retro vibe would be happening but Bond would actually be in that era. It could work.

That's what I've thought they should do for a while set the films in the 60's somewhere, doesn't matter about exact dates, with the cold war spy stories that suit Bond best. It doesn't seem like they want to do that though they maybe want Bond to be modern with modern shit like cell phones so young fans will be interested.

Yeah? Doesn't surprise me that you'd have a similar if not the same thought. Cell phones & other modern gadgets would be unnecessary if the story's good. But I can see them being wimps about it and relying on today's tech and the latest car phallic models.

Personally, I'd go with it set in the 60s with an experienced, though not yet geezer Bond. Imagine the soundtrack alone!!!
