Rod in Toronto Posted August 19, 2015 Share Posted August 19, 2015 In other unrelated, unreported and hardly relevante news, I went from Rio to Salvador yesterday, with a stopover in São Paulo. I had to be in Salvador for an audience with a judge which happened early today. An offshore worker is suing his previous employer and my company due to his alleged unfair dismissal. I had to go and represent my company, even though we didn't hire him directly. The whole thing lasted not more than half an hour, and I'm on my way back to Rio already, but had to stop at Belo Horizonte. I love Rush's music, but the high and mighty Mr. Peart is rock and roll's biggest hypocrite. He is guilty, to a lesser degree than KISS, of the same actions of marketing. No big deal really, it is a business and there's nothing wrong with that...as I said before, at least KISS is more honest about. He also goes to great lengths to let everyone know how private and shy he is while writing a blog and books that delve deeply into his personal life. He also loves to point out the hypocrisy of "religious" people. While I agree that many, many, many bad things have been done in the name of God, I believe that there are countless good things that true people of faith do every single day in that same name. It doesn't reach the press, so it is not regurgitated through Mr. Peart's pen. Just like he mentions religion all the time in his lyrics but professes to not believe in any of them.
