My favorite drummers:

Neil Peart ( :rush: )

It´s no more close to Neil....

Not even a nod to Rutsey???? And you call yourself a Rush fan...pfffft;

Yeah. Ok, I am sorry. Rutsey was good as well.

Another shout out to Mick for mentioning the also highly underrated Roger Taylor. Thanks, dude! :D

Colaiuta. He's played with everyone, every genre, MONSTER chops and taste when playing less intense music. From Chick Corea to Joan Armatrading to Megadeth to Zappa...he's done it all.

Of course there's Bozzio who just a damn alien. What he does is not drumming it's something else entirely.

Just remembered a guy who's great, but was fired from his band for a stupid reason and never made it big again: Dave Abbruzzese. His work on the first there Pearl Jam albums is stellar!!!

Just my recollection, but in the 60s, drumming went from Ringo on a small ludwig kit to sophisticated drumming by some elite talent towards the end of the decade. I'd like to recognize drummers such as Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix's drummer), Danny Seraphine (Chicago), Ginger Baker and Bobby Colomby (Blood, Sweat and Tears) as some of the drummers I enjoyed during this evolution. (being alive during this time because I'm an old f@rt has its advantages) . :laughing guy:

One fond memory of another good drummer is 20 year old Michael Shrieve from Santana at Woodstock. :drool: Anyone who saw his drum solo would admit he had talent.

One drummer I would not put on my favorite drummer list is Doug Clifford of CCR... :facepalm: :finbar: Anyone remember his effort in Green River??

He's an incredibly tight and steady player. Unsung in rock music.
