Lorraine
Perhaps Limelight makes an appearance? Surely, Rush can't skip Limelight for an entire tour, can they? I'd love it if they did La Villa too. Just one last time. And taped it so it could be included on the official dvd.
engineco16
So here's my take on last nights show. My first concert was Rush in 1978 in San Bernardino. I've seen them every year except for the last two tours for various reasons. Rush has never put on a bad show IMO and this tour is probably one of their best productions ever! Between all the changes to the set ongoing throughout the show to the crew performing all their little parts in the show is just amazing. I've never heard Rush sound bad at a show, this show was no different, but.... The first few songs Alex's guitar was way too loud. Now as a guitarist I loved it and his tone was so cool! But after a few songs the mix got way better. The band played nearly flawless, Alex made a few mistakes during the solo in Subdivisions, he is human after all! LOL I loved the setlist but was sad not to have gotten Camera Eye one of my all time favorites. I noticed the new light pattern (green, yellow, red) during the reggae part of SOR, cool! Also on a lot of the older songs Howard used the same light patterns he did back in the day and it was awesome I thought. Throughout the show the I felt a bit of melancholy several times. Thinking how Rush was my live first band to see and maybe my last and how glad I was to be part of it. How Rush has been there through every step of my life. Glad I got to meet each member at least once in a friendly setting. It brought me to tears for a guy of 51 years old. I was sad, but at the same time proud to have been there since 1978 and a fan of their music since 1976. They've never let me down in any direction they've gone. They still have it for a bunch of old farts like me. I took a ton of photos using a pretty good camera, no phone shots for me. Here's a few. In a few days I'll post about 150 photos for everyone to see in an offsite album, feel free to share and enjoy! PS: Irvine is a near perfect venue, except for the long walk LOL Life long Rush fan,Dave http://photographersnature.com/rush/IMG_8355.jpg http://photographersnature.com/rush/IMG_8372.jpg http://photographersnature.com/rush/IMG_8425.jpg http://photographersnature.com/rush/IMG_8509.jpg http://photographersnature.com/rush/IMG_8546.jpg Edited August 1, 2015 by engineco16

GabesCavesOfIce
Man, if I could afford it I would be on a plane to LA tomorrow. I'm sure you are not alone. I was thinking this morning how much it would cost to book a flight today, fly out tomorrow, and get some type of ticket once there. No. I can't do it, but was just wondering how much money it would take at this point to do something like that. I wish I could have gone as well, but work and vacation schedule is jam packed right now, and the cost was prohibitive. I started looking about three weeks ago, and Aug 1 flights from JFK had me gagging at nearly $700 round trip. The last week, nonstops started at $1300, yikes. Halfway decent Forum tickets were $500 - $700. Plus hotel and incidentals, trip would have been $2500 if booked the last few days, for a one night stay. Cheaper to force myself to like Pearl Jam a little more and travel to LA next time they play there. .
PolarizeMe
http://photographersnature.com/rush/IMG_8509.jpg This had to be during 2112 considering he's got the black '60s Jazz Bass with matching headstock strapped on him and the donkey/horse thing with the "HAY!" sign referring to the audience participating "Hey!" chant during the Overture. That's hilarious, hahaha! I wish it made an appearance at the NYC show but as a Faith No More song once said, "You want it all but you can't have it!"
