That One Guy
What are yours? For me, the surprise triple-threat of Hemispheres Prelude, Xanadu, and Cygnus X-1 was amazing. I also loved the Trailer Park Boys appearance in the Roll The Bones video. Also, the encore video and subsequent homage to themselves for the last few songs was great. Putting amps on chairs, just awesome. Can't forget the barrage of ever-increasing washing machines and amps during the songs either
Lorraine
Does anyone know who thought this up? Whose imagination is responsible for this R40 show? Whoever it is, is quite the talent. It was very well done from start to finish. Very creative. Most important (at least to me), very touching in many ways. The end video is the most poignant to me ("Exit...Stage Left). That is, before the exchange with the puppet at the dressing room door. :)

Bigbobby10
The best part to me was the light show they did, it was spectacular and made the concert feel a lot better
Geddy's Soul Patch
It doesn't get any cooler than the Ged man and Alex BOTH sporting double necks!

Jaminbenb
I started getting excited when they got about half way through Roll the Bones...then once the second half of the show started, I was pretty awe struck! (although getting to hear Losing It during the sound check was pretty cool!)

Crimsonmistymemory
I think I have mentioned this in another thread before but, the most favorite part of the show for me was when the curtian raised for the 2nd set and I got to tell my lovely "That is what the stage looked like the 1st time I saw them" Really the icing on the cake as the whole show was a spectical that I was trying to absorb and hold every moment in captivity knowing that truely this may be the last.

x1yyz
There is absolutely no part of the show I do not love. I think this tour is much more than the sum of its parts.
ClassicB
Second set. This set brought back the feel of a real RUSH concert. They couldn't get rid of those corny first half stage props fast enough for me.
DistantEarlySignals
The Wreckers, Between The Wheels, The Camera Eye, Xanadu, Cygnus X-1, Jacob's Ladder, Lakeside Park, What You're Doing, and Red Barchetta have been the highlights out of shows that I've seen. Xanadu
I love this show design more than anything since the Presto bunnies. Only annoying thing is the guys taking the amps away during the songs. Yeah, it gets a little distracting at times, but their decision to do it was pure genius, if only due to the fact that they have a lot less work to do when the show is finally over. geezer
The light show really challenges the music this time. Both are superb displays of what great minds can achieve.

Actually I think it creates more work. All those props have to be packed up and unpacked, loaded and unloaded, etc. I think its kind of cool and not really distracting because they arent interfering with the guys up there. They are in costume. They are part of the show. It reminds me of the Talking Heads Stop Making Sense show where they began with a bare stage and just a boom box for a prop and bulit the stage up during the show.
Disk98
One word: Xanadu. Two words: double necks. Three words: best show ever!
TFEman
Yeah Cygnus X-1 was amazing. For me, it really was the 3rd part of CX1 right after the drum solo. With all the special effects, it was insane. I loved One Little Victory and of course The Anarchist was great to hear again
toadbrother
One word: Xanadu. Two words: double necks. Three words: best show ever! Yup. Saw them in Vancouver on Friday. When Alex started playing the opening notes of Xanadu, Rogers Arena suddenly turned into a Prog Cathedral. My absolute favorite Rush song, and not only did they play it, but they played it flawlessly. It was like I was watching the ESL version, it was that good. Alex was brilliant, Geddy was singing like he did thirty years ago, and Neil nailing every percussive detail. I said it elsewhere, but if this is really it for Rush, it makes me feel sad, but if they are indeed hanging it up, this is the show to do it on. I've seen Pink Floyd, with the monster gimmicks that come along with that kind of show, but what I saw last Friday was the greatest concert experience of my life.
Rhyta
There is so much to love! The start with great songs from Clockwork Angels, people waving their hands as if to fly My favs from S&A then wham OLV :Neil: . It was fascinating to watch them go back in time. I never had seen them play Xanadu live, cool to see Neil and the tubular bells and the doublenecks :D Same with Jacob's Ladder, beautiful. The lasers were fascinating to watch and came down so close over our heads I almost wanted to reach up and touch them. Of course their skits and bloopers were hilarious. So so glad I got to see this tour, hope the DVD will do it justice because I will want to watch it a lot :ebert:
