I like Neil because...

He like his two band mates continue to strive at improving their craft. He chose to write deep and fanciful lyrics instead just hormone pablum. He knows and appreciates that Rush is truly a collabritive effort.

I like Neil because he continues to do whatever he wants no matter what the forum complainers might say.

I like Neil because just like me, he think this thread is stupid...

I'd say the other thread is stupid, this one is neato-keeno. :)

I like Neil because he's not afraid to call out knucklehead fringe presidential candidates.

Like many of us, he's an introvert that's managed to make a successful career in a public forum, and so has changes lives for the better. That's no small feat.

Because he cares about the fans in his own way.You can say what you want but he suffers through pain and fame for 40 years to enertain you the fans tour after tour.

Regardless of his views or personality this tour only happened because he sacrificed his time for you. Remember he lost his wife and daughter but instead of living his life out quietly. He continued to tour and make music for your enjoyment.

I like Neil because he wrote these lines:

Freeze this moment a little bit longer. Make each sensation a little bit stronger.

All of us get lost in the darkness. Dreamers learn to steer by the stars.

There's something here that's as strong as life. I know that it will reach you!

The spaces in between leave room for you and I to grow.

I believe there's a ghost of a chance we can find someone to love and make it last.

Everybody got to deviate from the norm.

I can't pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend.

Better the pride that resides in a citizen of the world than the pride that divides when a colorful flag is unfurled.

If I could wave my magic wand, I'd make everything all right.

Wave after wave will flow with the tide and bury the world as it does. Tide after tide will flow and recede leaving life to go on as it was.

The future disappears into memory, with only a moment between. Forever dwells in that moment. Hope is what remains to be seen.

Six Stars of the Northern Cross

In mourning for their sister's loss

In a final flash of glory

Nevermore to grace the night ...

and

I have memory and awareness,

But I have no shape or form.

As a disembodied spirit,

I am dead and yet unborn.

I have passed into Olympus

As was told in tales of old,

To the city of Immortals,

Marble white and purest gold ...

Have taken me across the universe too many times to count

The night is black

Without a moon

The air is thick and still

The vigilantes gather on

The lonely torch lit hill

Features distorted in the flickering light

The faces are twisted and grotesque

Silent and stern in the sweltering night

The mob moves like demons possessed

Quiet in conscience, calm in their right

Confident their ways are best

The righteous rise

With burning eyes

Of hatred and ill-will

Madmen fed on fear and lies

To beat and burn and kill

They say there are strangers who threaten us

In our immigrants and infidels

They say there is strangeness too dangerous

In our theaters and bookstore shelves

That those who know what's best for us

Must rise and save us from ourselves

Quick to judge

Quick to anger

Slow to understand

Ignorance and prejudice

And fear walk hand in hand...
