Make 3 changes to the setlist you saw

Try and keep the integrity of the setlist (don't take out CTTH and replace with Necromancer or something they would never do)

I saw setlist C, and I would make these 3 changes... get rid of CA, replace with Time Stand Still. As much as I liked the celebrity rap, I would have replaced RTB with Dreamline. I've seen Subdivisions enough, would have loved to see Analog Kid again.

The Anarchist

Clockwork Angels

Headlong Flight ->

Drumbastica (drum solo)

Far Cry

The Main Monkey Business

One Little Victory

Animate

Roll The Bones -> Dreamline

Time Stand Still

Distant Early Warning

Subdivisions -> Analog Kid

Tom Sawyer

YYZ

The Spirit of Radio

Natural Science

Jacob's Ladder

Hemispheres: Prelude

Cygnus X-1: Prologue, Drum Solo, Part 3

Closer To The Heart

Xanadu

2112 Parts I, II, IV and VII

Lakeside Park (abbreviated) ->

Anthem

What You're Doing

Working Man ->

Garden Road (teaser)

Hard to be totally specific on everything but in general, I would have done only 2 songs off CA rather than 3 (replace one with Time Stand Still - if ever there was an appropriate time for that song, it's now), La Villa Strangiato added (get rid of The Main Monkey Business) and play What You're Doing at its normal speed. Setlist Version A (Clockwork Angels and The Anarchist switched openings)

Set 1:

Video Intro (The World is ... The World is)

The Anarchist

Clockwork Angels

Headlong Flight (with Drumbastica mini drum solo)

Far Cry

The Main Monkey Business Workin Them Angels

One Little Victory (this one was so bad anything would do) Ghost Rider

Animate Cold Fire

Roll The Bones (with celebrity rappers video)

Distant Early Warning

Subdivisions

Intermission (R40 drum kit replaced with throwback replica kit)

Set 2:

Video Intro (No Country for Old Hens)

Tom Sawyer

Red Barchetta

The Spirit of Radio

Jacob's Ladder

Cygnus X-1 Book Two: Hemispheres - Prelude

Cygnus X-1 Book One - The Voyage: Part 1

Drum Solo

Cygnus X-1 Book One - The Voyage: Part 3

Closer To The Heart

Xanadu (double neck guitars)

2112 Overture/The Temples of Syrinx/Presentation/Grand Finale

Encore:

Video Intro (Mel's Rock Pile starring Eugene Levy)

Lakeside Park

Anthem

What You're Doing

Working Man (Garden Road riff at the end)

Video Outro (Exit Stage Left)

I would rather replace some of the CA stuff but having The Garden and Halo Effect early on would ruin the mood I am afraid... :sigh:

If it comes down to only having to replace 3 songs, then I consider it a pretty damn good set list....so I'm ok with leaving it as is. That being said I avoided the set list with The Wreckers in it...never understood why that was included since it's such a meh song. CTTH is not really necessary but it's short so I can deal with it. Loves me some CA so I wouldn't replace that. Time Stands Still is just too poppy for me.

If I could wave my magic wand, I'd also replace Animate with Cut to the Chase.

I'm good... Maybe Dreamline for Roll the Bones...but the video was worth the price of admission on it...

I had C so life was good!

The RTB video was pretty interesting, but I don't hate the song either like some do, so maybe that made the difference.

I'm with you. Dreamline live is my favorite RTB song, but the celeb rap was pretty fun

I would of took out songs that have more than 1 song from an album so that more albums could be represented. I got set A but would love to seen natural science one last time and I am tired of animate would of done cold fire. Working them angles over MMB for sure. Nice changes Narps.

Driven , Awesome song not played since 2002, over clockwork angels, played in order after OLV...reduces CA to 2 songs

Cut to the Chase, awesome song NEVER PLAYED, over Animate

Weapon, awesome song not played since 1986. ( 1986... is pow site correct?) Over either DEW or Subdivisions

I saw Night A in Columbus and Night B in Buffalo. I think the changes I would make would be...

Night A:

-I'd get rid of Clockwork Angels and insert Prime Mover after RtB

-Replace Distant Early Warning with Enemy Within

-Replace One Little Victory with either Ghost Rider from the same album, or possibly Test for Echo to get T4E represented

Night B is pretty darn good as it is. As someone who doesn't listen to VT that much, I actually enjoyed How it Is. Between the Wheels and Camera Eye are AWESOME. I know a lot of people are down on The Wreckers but I like it. I think Carnies rocks harder and might keep that heavy rock feel going between Anarchist and Headlong Flight, but I like the darker sort of mood created by Anarchist and Wreckers before Headlong Flight snaps us into positive thinking.

I saw set C. I would remove Clockwork Angels, What Your Doing, and Far Cry (or The Main Monkey Buisness, one or the other, doesent matter), I would insert Test For Echo, Prime Mover and The Big Money

I'd make two changes, also I only keep RTB because the celebrity rap video was fun live otherwise I could leave the song off the list.

Setlist Version A

Set 1:

Clockwork Angels

The Anarchist

Headlong Flight (with Drumbastica mini drum solo)

Far Cry

The Main Monkey Business

One Little Victory

Animate

Roll The Bones (with celebrity rappers video)

The Big Money

Red Sector A

Subdivisions

Am I alone?

A couple changes to the first set, and the change in the second set is proposed to make all setlists "fair" in terms of number of songs played. I know it's more than three changes, but if I'm going to dream I'm going to dream big.

Setlist Version B

Set 1:

Video Intro (The World is ... The World is)

The Anarchist

The Wreckers

Headlong Flight (with Drumbastica mini drum solo)

Far Cry

The Main Monkey Business -> MalNar

How It Is

Animate -> Literally anything else from Counterparts, Animate has been overplayed

Roll The Bones (with celebrity rappers video) -> Ghost of a Chance

Between the Wheels -> Kid Gloves

Subdivisions -> Losing It

Intermission (R40 drum kit replaced with throwback replica kit)

Set 2:

Video Intro (No Country for Old Hens)

Tom Sawyer

The Camera Eye

The Spirit of Radio

ADD Entre Nous (Effectively swap with Red Barchetta/YYZ and TCE with Natural Science, and add NS to the A set)

Jacob's Ladder

Cygnus X-1 Book Two: Hemispheres - Prelude

Cygnus X-1 Book One - The Voyage: Part 1

Drum Solo

Cygnus X-1 Book One - The Voyage: Part 3

Closer To The Heart

Xanadu (double neck guitars)

2112 Overture/The Temples of Syrinx/Presentation/Grand Finale

Encore:

Video Intro (Mel's Rock Pile starring Eugene Levy)

Lakeside Park

Anthem

What You're Doing

Working Man (Garden Road riff at the end)

Video Outro (Exit Stage Left)

in Chicago, Geddy said OLV was an important song to them... how could you take that from them?!?

Because it is the worst song on the album. Since it is so important to them, they can keep in the drum opening before segueing into The Color of Right....that's give the Xanadu-Superconductor shock a run for its money.
