I never made a setlist, but I was expecting mostly 80s and 90s and 2000s stuff. I assumed working man, overture/temples, ctth, the trees, la villa and maybe a medley of some sort would represent the 70s. 3 minute xanadu perhaps

I didn't actually make a set list, but checked off some songs in my head I knew they would play and some I hoped they would play (e.g., Jacob's Ladder and both Cygnus songs - does that make them The Cygni?).

There's no way anyone got this set list entirely correct, though. Anyone who says they called them playing Lakeside Park and Anthem in their entirety is straight up lying.... or was high when they made that set list.

I don't think I really chose anything solid (except Spirit of Radio, and Tom Sawyer) But a lot of stuff that I hoped for made the cut! (Jacob's Ladder, and a better version of Xanadu...not to mention Lakeside Park)

My biggest hope was for at least one song from each album, to make it a "full" setlist....

Honestly...I was thinking the R40 Overture more than anything else....

Actually they played a abreviated version of Lakeside Park, they ommited the verse

Everyone would gather

On the twenty fourth of May

Sitting in the sand

To watch the fireworks display

Dancing fires on the beach

Singing songs together

Though it's just a memory

Some memories last forever

Which I was so hoping they would sing in Tampa on the 24th of May. But it was an awesome surprise none the less, Anthem too well Hell let's just say the whole wonderful show!

Well the fact that they actually did vocals to Anthem, and played Lakeside Park in SOME capacity, and What You're Doin' to ME was a big plus! My original exposure to these guys was All The World's a Stage, so these tunes made me happy! (plus a good bunch of 2112 and Working Man!)

Here's my setlist from the "Realistic R40 Setlists" thread a while back.

Set 1 "Fan Favorites"

2112 (just overture, and cut it before "and the meek shall inherit"

The Trees

Xanadu (abbreviated)

Lakeside Park

Cygnus X1 (abbreviated)

YYZ

Samplings of TFOL and Necromancer

Tom Sawyer

Closer to the Heart

The Spirit of Radio

Intermission

Set 2 "Band Favorites"

R40 Medley: By-tor, Natural Science, Between the Wheels, Big Money, Mission (middle jam), Leave That Thing Alone

Limelight

Bravado

Entre Nous

BU2B

Drum Solo

Resist (acoustic)

Animate

Red Barchetta

Far Cry

La Villa Strangiato

One Little Victory

Encore (I have a feeling they might do 3 again, or maybe even 4 for the encore, if this really is it)

Headlong Flight

The Garden

(Fly By Night)

Working Man

Some editing still to be done but I think this is pretty realistic. I truly think they are doing their best to really go out with a bang on this tour.

Pretty happy with my guesses. I got Lakeside Park, and called a 4 song encore! And I think I count 16 correct in total (We'll see about any other alternates if they pop up)? I'll take it.

Yeah, that's weird. No Limelight on an anniversary tour. Shame, too… it's one of my favorites. Oh well, still an awesome set.

I actually guessed the "going back in time" format! :dweez:

Kept it all reverse chronological until the encore, I'm most shocked I guessed TMMB...I added several instrumentals to save Geddy's voice, and made sure to add at least one song from every album.

I'd still like to hear this one, just sayin'...

Opening night setlist was 11. I f you want to count the C-show, then it's 12. Not quite up to my VT Tour standards where I won that setlist contest, but pretty good considering there is no new material and every song was theoretically fair game.

2112: Overture (original key, directly transitioning into....)

Tom Sawyer

Roll the Bones

Show Don't Tell

Caravan

Clockwork Angels

YYZ (w/ drum solo #1)

A Passage to Bangkok

Limelight

Test For Echo

Headlong Flight

Fly By Night (re-worked into a version they aren't embarrassed by)

Far Cry (transitioning from the mid-song Hemispheres chord into....)

Hemispheres: Prelude

Cut to the Chase

Chemistry

Red Lenses (w/ drum solo #2)

The Garden

Distant Early Warning

Subdivisions

La Villa Strangiato (somewhat shortened)

Xanadu

The Spirit of Radio (creatively transitioning into.....)

The Necromancer: Under the Shadow (DUNNNNN dunnnn DUN-DUN thru guitar solo)

In the Mood
