Normal Geddy says at the end of concert " So long, Thank you so very much we will see you soon" or something similar.

This time around It was " Thank you for the support through the years. You Have been so very good to us St. Louis. So Long. something similar.

Thus a farewell message. So What did geddy say at the shows you have attended/

I don’t recall ever hearing him say anything like “we’ll see you soon.” On the last couple/few tours I remember him saying something along the lines of “we hope to see you again sometime. Bye-bye!” On this tour, in Atlanta I think he said something like “maybe our paths will cross again.” It seems to me that he is saying a “good-bye” but not a permanent one.

I think at the Atlanta show he said something like... :blah: "Good night folks and Narps we know you are back there somewhere in the nosebleeds but we love you on the TRF"... ;)

Did he happen to add Give my love to Lorraine?

He blew a kiss and I don't think it was aimed at me... ;)

I am considering what I saw in Atlanta to be it for me. If it turns out to be so, I am at peace with it. 36 years from first time to last time is quite and achievement for them in my view. Bless them for hanging in for so long... :)

I can't even begin to imagine a life without them touring - that being said, it's hard to say goodbye to something (Someone) you love so much. These boys have been such a mainstay in my life (and many of yours) for so long that saying goodbye for what could be the last time, feels a little painful.

I know that I'll be super excited to see them again live - as I have for the 20 some odd shows I've been to before, but for the last show - I foresee tears.

This makes me sad.

I wish them all good health ~ and thank them for their gift of music and showmanship through the years.

Well - if this is it, I can go out satisfied as I don't know if they can top what I saw in Greensboro last week! Let's face it - these guys have earned whatever time off they want/need, and I'm sure they are probably tired of living out of a suitcase.

Hope I do get another chance, but if not - they went out on top of their game!

As for what Geddy has been saying at the end of shows I wouldn't read too much into it in terms of people thinking that saying"hope to see you again" means they will be playing more shows/tours. Obviously this will be their last big scale tour. Having said that I know this was being discussed a while back but I highly doubt that the Forum will be the last time those 3 will be together on stage doing a show.

They will take an extended break but I am sure in 4 or 5 years when they realize things start to get boring they will want to do something even Neil. I am sure he wants to spend time with family but eventually the itch to do something will come. Of course not these extended dates but some type of short residency at a big venue.

:( This thread is making me sad.

Glass half empty you are. http://www.smiley-lol.com/smiley/sf/yoda-master.gif

Think of it this way Geddy is keeping the door open.

Imagine it RUSH on tour five years from now...Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Ticco Torres.

No shabby achievement for you and I, as well! :codger:

Perhaps, but I'm pretty sure the simulated fellatio was.

"Thanks so much for your support, and look for our next album 2113, in which we travel back to Megadon where the priests are staging their coup d'etat to reclaim their power from the Dionysian music lovers while one priest, full of doubt, undertakes a journey back to the Fountain of Lamneth to find out if the struggle is worth all the pain and suffering, only to encounter Cygnus, God of Balance, who gives him not the answers, but the questions to be found along that Garden Road, which leads to the Garden, babies, where there is peace and contentment and the measure of a life, not to mention a seven-minute-long Strangiato-like guitar solo to close out the album. Shit, did I give too much away? Good night!!I

I can think of about a million good reasons why that's not a good idea. :P
