Just for shits and giggles I went over to Rushpetition.com and took a look at the results over there. That site obviously caters to hardcore fans voting so let's have a look, oh I see nothing from the top 21 went into the set but there at #22 sits How It Is.

Geeze some of you need to lighten up. Saw the tour 3 times and I am telling you it would help momentum and mood if things shifted around more. Stop with the "it's their band they can do whatever show they want to do" crap. I am not asking for a totally different set list but to just mix up the set with a few more songs either hits earlier or less CA songs. 3 in a row from the last album is not the best way to begin a show. JUST MY OPINION. I know a lot of people share the same opinion too who would rather have 2 of those songs swapped out with something from Presto and Test For Echo and others would like maybe something from Hold Your Fire like Time Stand Still or Power Windows. Coming out with How It Is is nice and all and would be a nice thing to see a few times a tour added in but every 3rd show? Nobody gives a shit about that song. You're lying if you say you do.

I will agree that How it is blows and is a waste.

Other than that, the shows aren't geared for multiple consumers who follow them around the country.

I LOVE How It Is and I'm really glad I got to see them play it!

Also, I think the shows are geared for people who like to see a few in a row. That way you can catch all the iterations.

well, to a point, I will agree. But some of these guys are ridiculous. My last show I ran into a guy who saw 11 shows on CA and over 120 in his life. Get real, people. That's a bit stalkerish

Hey, this may be the last time I get to see them and I want to make up for the years I didn't!

I never quite understood that either. I mean, I can handle a couple times on one tour for my absolute very favorite bands (about 2-3 bands total) if I'm seriously diggin' the latest album and want to soak in the live vibe...but never more than twice, and usually once is just fine.

Obviously Phish heads and Deadheads are a breed unto their own, but...I know some Rush guys that catch nearly every north American date, and have since the early 80s. They literally take weeks of vacation (saved up for years, for just such an event - a new Rush tour) to hit every show.

LOL, it take some commitment. for sure.

I wonder what Geddy's different bass count is per 3 set rotation

It must be close to 12 guitars.

Eagle....I assuming you have a fairly precise estimate on that.

Geddy must being having a blast switching basses.

I counted 21 different basses used in New Orleans... I took a picture of each and every one he played on that night.

11 different Fender Jazzes

4 Fender Precisons

3 Rickenbacker (including Doubleneck)

2 Gibson

1 Hofner

With Rush recently you have to see at least two or three shows to catch all the songs they are playing. And (with me, at least) the excitement runs high and I am not able to take everything in from just one show. I found that if I see multiple shows it helps me remember things much better. And if this is the last time I am seeing them, I want to really remember the shows, and not think back "Hey, did I see them play {song} or not?"

I was hoping they were going to play Milwaukee and chicago again like usual. I usually go see both shows, but Milwaukee got punked :(

Or, the band rotates some songs because they want to keep every performance at a certain time limit. They don't have the time to play all the songs they've rehearsed. They can't play 3.5 to 4 hours every night.

I am a big 70s fan and complained a lot before the tour due to the under abundance of 70s and 90s material on the CA tour.

But this setlist is killer.

Hey, I saw this before the tour started and thought that I wouldn't mind anything played off this list as it hasn't been done before. Obviously I have my preferences (ie, would rather some over others) but am happy something new got a run. Crying shame that if this is, in fact, the last tour that so many songs were never played live. On a slight angle, those potential future shows Alex was talking about (...a week in Massey Hall, etc) would be a great forum for some of these unplayed songs to be premiered. If only...!

well, to a point, I will agree. But some of these guys are ridiculous. My last show I ran into a guy who saw 11 shows on CA and over 120 in his life. Get real, people. That's a bit stalkerish

Years ago, one nincompoop ditched his wife during the birth of their child, because he had to go see Rush for the 95th or 103rd time.....and tell all about it on a certain Rush fan website. He had his signs at the shows, advertizing how many shows he has seen.......

It's always good to have one's life priorities in order.

Wow, great show. Geddy sounded very good with on,y a couple exceptions. My section stood the entire time with just a few people here and there giving up and sitting. Got to meet up with a great group before the show.

I saw three shows this tour because there is 3 different set list's. So I was able to see every show performed and every song. I am not one of those who could see them 20 times a tour or 30 or even more like some really crazy and yes I am calling them crazy people. I usually see them 3 to 4 times a tour if I am traveling and happen to be in the area of a show I will definitely make plans to drive the extra 50 miles or whatever to go see them OR if they are playing 2 or 3 shows within 2-3 hours of me then knock those out. Why? Well I know that as they get older those opportunities to ever see or hear those songs again by them will only be via Blu Ray or bootleg. So it I can understand in theory seeing the band 4 or 5 times a tour. But the people who live in the U.S. and then travel to see the same show that toured North America for 4 months in Europe?

All I can say is "disposable income". It costs a ton to see a band with excellent seats for a 3 show run. 30-40 shows? I can't grasp it.

Yeah, I'm sure Alex is excited to be in Florida...!

Not necessarily. Sorry to get all SOCN, but these days, I am guessing he only likes the liberal states, the ones that allow the medical maryjane, or won't try to jail ya over a little pain relief.

I didn't know that, cool. I'll be getting fresh Geddy then on the 14th in Chicago http://www.shootersloft.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/woot.gif

If you wait until the 14th to see them in Chicago, you'll be 2 days late - and you're going to miss the Detroit show too, since THAT is where they play on the 14th.

As long as it's not New Year's Eve, he doesn't go near any Ritz-Carlton hotels, and his boy isn't around, Alex won't have any trouble in Florida. ;)
