NaturalScientist75 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 A guy on FB suggested that fans do this, so I am sharing. At whatever shows you go to, if you are willing, hold the red star proudly high in hand at the beginning of set 2. Either an image on your phone or a sign. It would be great for the boys to see us all doing the same thing at the same time in appreciation of them. This idea seems to work the best out of all of them (which included kimonos, neil mustaches, tea lights...)
toymaker Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Cool idea, but isn't holding up the red star signifying that you embrace the totalitarian regime that the hero of 2112 is struggling against? Or are you talking about holding up the "naked dude" icon? 6
Nate1647 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I think (unless its proven to be in the set), that in between the 2nd set and encore, the entire audience should sing "The Sphere." Something to really startle the boys and show our appreciation. 1
stone and a hard place Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I think getting naked and and standing in opposition to the red star would get their attention better. and maybe security as well. 4

Assume the position. That dude kind of reminds me of a naked mime, sometimes. You know, the "invisible wall" routine.

MMCXII Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 (edited) Cool idea, but isn't holding up the red star signifying that you embrace the totalitarian regime that the hero of 2112 is struggling against? Or are you talking about holding up the "naked dude" icon? Beat me to it.. Want to hold something high? Make a big sign that says "THANK YOU" and hold it up after your favorite song in second set. Everyone should do this!! This should be the theme for us fans on this tour. Let the boys know how we feel about them coming back!! Edited because I forgot the spoiler rule.. Oops! NaturalScientist75 Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 "As most fans know, the R40 tour is being billed as (possibly) the last major tour of its kind for Rush. Whether that statement is true or not, there is a growing campaign that is asking fans attending the shows to honor Alex, Geddy, and Neil in appreciation of all their hard work throughout the decades. The campaign, dubbed HOLD THE RED STAR PROUDLY HIGH IN HAND, is asking the following:" John Patuto from Cygnus x-1.net"Download the Red Star image on this page (click for a larger version), or a similar one, to your phone, and when the guys come back on stage after intermission, hold your phone in the air towards the stage and display the Red Star, proudly! I'm sure Lerxst, Dirk and Pratt would be happy to walk out to an arena FULL of glowing Red Stars. If you think it's a good idea, PASS THE WORD and SHARE! #holdtheredstarappreciationcampaign - "Michael Mark You can use a sign is you cant do it on the phone.
Cygnus 2112 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 My phones lock screen is the red star guy. So I'm good to go.
