But it is awkard...favourite songs post- PeW, but as albums, it doesn't get any better than CoS-MP. After that, as much as I love Rush, it is more about the individual songs and less the entire album.

And thats the point. Complete awesome albums (IMO 9 of them) against hit or miss and a good song here or there. I will take the former all day long...

But....Mr Myles...I think the 70s fans would rally behind the 70s tunes I rattled off above. I could be wrong, but I think there is as close to unanimous love for those songs from the fans of that era.

What I was trying to do is see is some of the synth folks would come back with a list of similar list of synth era songs that are irreplaceable and essential Rush.

That's what makes it tough to see the synth era on equal footing. Maybe some would say Digital Man, some may say Grand Designs (two good synth songs!) but I'm not sure there would be universal adulation on a par of 70s classics such as LVS, Cygnus, Xanadu or 2112. (BTW, I love Chain Lightning and Available Light so much I may get kicked out of the 70s club!! Not truly Synth tunes, but close enough?)

Any takers synthers?

I like Available Light and Chain Lighting very much too. I wouldn't take them however over the 70's style and songs ever. They are good but just not the style I love. Red Sector A and Distant Early Warning are two that are very synth era that are the closest to competing with my 70's gems...

16 to 13. Gonna call this one. Seems old school wins out still in this hypothetical even when Signals and Moving Pictures are gone. Interesting. One more "test" coming later today...

Another reason is it gets rid of all you DELIGHTFUL CA fans, lol

Mick

Ah Mick, you'd miss us. What would you do if you couldn't call CA a piece of ***? :laughing guy: Cheers! :gumby:

He'd resort to calling Vaport Trails a POS.

What you mean Resort TM.......I do that anyway, lol
