Half the World.

Phoned in crap that could have been written for a fourth grade poetry contest and would have finished as an also ran.

No one's mentioned Neurotica yet? Or You Bet Your Life?

You did, so I'll add The Body Electric and I Think I'm Going Bald.

half brilliance, half sub standard for this band.

couldn't put my finger on anything weak at all before that.

"Their thirst for freedom gives them hunger for vengeance"

"Silence shrouds the forest as the birds announce the dawn"

They sound like a high school kid trying to be a good writer.. I'll give Neil a break though because that's basically what he was at the time lol

both horrid but Neurotica is saved by a very underrated guitar solo.

Mick

Which has no bearing on the lyrics. :)

I will let "bald" slide as it was obviously not intended to be anything more than comic relief ... The way Geddy first says "I think I'm, I'm goin' bald" is delivered with perfect comic intentions ...

RUSH was touring with KISS at the time, and has mentioned "Going Bald" as a sort of companion piece to KISS' "Goin' Blind"

The really bad lyrics from Neil are the ones that are intended to be deep and fall short

I'll toss out Red Lenses, Roll The Bones and basically anything from the 90s

I still don't know what to make of Dog Years

If there's a typo in the title, you know it's got to be a Zumbi thread.

Yes, Dog Years. Good music in that song, too bad about the lyrics. Dogs may make great pets but they make lousy subject matter for songs (in my humble opinion).

This one always makes me cringe too:

"Now I lay me down in dream land."

Ick.
