I'm very fortunate to be from the land of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmy Vaughan, Toadies, Steve Miller, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Freddie King, Lead Belly, Demi Lovato, Meat Loaf (that's right. Meat Loaf is from Dallas. So is Demi Lovato, but who cares?), Michael Nesmith - the Monkey's member is from Dallas., of course Pantera (love, love, love, love....    , Charlie Pride! ( I did not know that.), Boz Skaggs, Michelle Shocked (didn't know that either... interesting.), Usher? (what? Is he really? Sweet! He's hot. But, I digress.....). T-Bone Walker.

My town is a super cool hotbed of good music, past and present. What you got?

Saxon :haz:

Technically, most of the band are from South Yorkshire, while I'm from West Yorkshire...but the singer, Biff Byford, grew up in the same village that I live in (but many years before)

Let's see...who is from Chicago....

Chicago

Styx

Survivor

REO Speedwagon

Smashing Pumpkins

Disturbed

Urge Overkill

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam

And I apologize for Kanye West.

These are just a few names I can think of, not necessarily proud of them all.

I grew up in Claremont,CA so I have to mention Ben Harper. Tom Waits was born nearby in Pomona. There's too many SoCal and L.A. to list so I'll stick to the inland area I lived in most of my life.

Cracker - Redlands

Queens of the Stone Age - the desert

Sammy Hagar - born in Fontana,CA

Frank Zappa - Went to my alma matter, Chaffey College, in Rancho Cucamonga,CA for a semester.

Also, Rowland Heights was my birth residence and apparently Van Halen played at parties in that area before they hit the big time.
