bluefox4000
The remix? yes.....Throwing aside the production botch......it's just weak material. For me anyway. Mick
LedRush
i just tried. VT.......it's a patience test........that's what it really is, lol I snapped 3 songs in. Mick You turned it off during Ghost Rider? Are you joking?
lifeson90
VT only rush i play these days. played it to death like all the others but never tire of it, never seems to age. the remix helped, once a few of the changes sunk in.
laughedatbytime
But Snakes don"t have asses.Wherever the shit comes out. In the case of S&A, I guess it's the speakers...

Drummerrobin
Vapor Trails for me - just has more passion than Snakes & Arrows I feel. For me, there are some great songs on S&A but also some real duds (by Rush's standards anyway). VT I think is the more consistently good album as well as being the one with more firepower. toymaker
Vapor Trails is great. Ceiling Unlimited and Earthshine. One Little Victory has that great machine-gun drum thing going on. That's Rush back on their game. Although I like Snakes, and I like the YYZ-like vibe of Malignant Narcissism, and a couple of other tunes, I tend to agree with a lot of others that there's a sameness of tempo and lack of pick-me-up in a lot of those tunes. It does have some great Lifeson guitar parts and leads, though.
driven_to_xanadu
Snakes narrowly. VT doesn't have much replay value for me. I like a few songs but listening to the whole album isn't all that great.

Blue J
I'm late to the party as usual, but I have added my vote. SNAKES! AND ARROWS!! ;)
EagleMoon
Wow, Neck and neck. I wonder if this would've been so close prior to the remix.
goose
Snakes narrowly. VT doesn't have much replay value for me. I like a few songs but listening to the whole album isn't all that great.I agree that listening to the entire VT in a sitting is tough. That's true for most of the later RUSH albums for me. VT has great emotional honesty. That carries it for me.

hammerofthor
The original VT for me. Snakes is probably the worst record they have ever put out.
The Analog Grownup
Both ugly and beautiful, it has something Snakes sorely lacks: a personality. This right here says it all.

Todem
Snakes and Arrows has the best songs of the two albums overall IMO. Far CryArmor & Sword - Superb powerful RushThe Main Monkey BusinessWorking Them AngelsMalignant NarcissismThe Way The Wind Blows The tunes I really love from Vapor Trails after all these years are: Ghost Rider - new mixVaportrail - new mix or old one and one of the best tunes they have ever written...I love this song!Nocturne - either mixFreeze - new mixSweet Miracle - either mixEarthshine - either mix Secret Touch, OLV and Ceiling Unlimited have not aged as well. I like them...I listen to them. But not nearly as good as I Initially found them. The albums are close. But I give the nod to Snakes for it's far better production value. Vaportrails was a train wreck sonically and although the re-mix breathed life into a lot of songs.....the album feels patched together over 18 months. Lot's of cut and paste etc. It was a very emotional and tough record for them. It was full of passion. And I love the lyrics. Love them. But Snakes is a better album overall.
EagleMoon
None of the songs stand out on Vapor Trails. Snakes has quite a few that do.
Stormtron
Both albums are too long, but other than MalNar the second half of Snakes just drags so much for me.

But yeah, VT ftw! The only reason it has a personality is because it came out after Neil's personal tragedy. Rating an album purely on sadness factor doesn't make it better.
bluefox4000
VT....i can go on all day, lol. Anyway my other problem is there are no peaks and valley's to the music........it's all at level bazillion and in your face. I always believe music should have those highs and lows. VT has none of that. Sorry, lol Mick
