Maybe I need some new headphones 😆 I hear that the record overall has elements from every stage of their career. Mixed with pop rock, and some modern themes. Kind of like it actually. Its not a classic by any means, but at the same time the record does not suck. Not to my ears anyway. There's repeat plays there, at least through the summer. I think the 2 bands are alternating headlining the shows. Tommy Lee broke 4 ribs 2 weeks ago. He wanted to try drumming but only made it through 5 songs, he had to leave the stage and was replaced by Tommy Clufetos, who has worked with Black Sabbath. Both drummers sounded good, as did Nikki Sixx on bass, but Vince Neil sounded challenged in the videos I saw. I was surprised at the lack of production/lighting for Crue after seeing Rush shows. Just didn't seem like much in what people posted. Maybe they are still working it out. Edited June 18, 2022 by blueschica

Just didn't seem like much in what people posted. Maybe they are still working it out. The videos I saw for Crue, it looked like it was still light outside. That would definitely affect any light show they may have. Vince sounded at times like he had just breathed in helium. He sounded better than their last tour but he still didn't sound that good. It seems like he was actually pronouncing the words to the songs right this time. I would be surprised if he makes it through the tour. At least Def Leppard is there to save the day when that happens. It's sad that they're rotating the headlining spot because Vince is such a question mark. Now, Tommy is injured and Mick has had back problems for years. Def Leppard on the other hand, nobody has to worry about if they going to show up and sound great because they always do. Also, they're the bigger band. They should close every night. I know Crue is very popular but they are not quite at the same level as Def Leppard. They don't have two albums that have sold over 10 million copies each like Lep has with Pyromania and Hysteria.

The last, and previous time Def Leppard performed four songs from their latest, studio release on its promoting tour was "X". It was in 2002/2003. Other, than their Diamond Star Halos/the Stadium Tour dates, I didn't, and wasn't going to say anything else about it because there might, and could be other people, who are, and were planning to see it. I knew the number of latest, current, and new songs they are going to perform were between two to four, too. If that's spoiling the show in some way then those fans need to lighten up on the whole no spoiler thing.

The friend with whom I'm seeing this show in August and I went out for lunch last week, and we were talking about the show. We saw them with Journey a couple of years ago. We agreed that they wiped the floor with Journey and are likely to do the same to the Crue. For the Crue's sake, I hope they play before Def Leppard.

Def Leppard is one of the most consistently good and dependable live bands of all time. Unless they're opening for a bigger band like the Rolling Stones, nobody should come on after them.

Derek19
Last Fri. Sept. 2 in Vancouver, at B.C. Place, I did see "the Stadium Tour". There wasn't any rain as it was sunny, and the retractable roof was open. In B.C. Place, it was hot, and even summer like weather, too. I was there to see the opening band, and group "Classless Act", and I thought they were good. With them, I haven't been familiar including their music. They started their five song performance with a song from their debut "Welcome to the Show" called "This Is For You". They performed for twenty-twenty-five mins. After a fifteen-twenty min. intermission, "Joan Jett & the Blackhearts" walked on stage to perform their full, twelve song set, and I thought they were great. They started their twelve song performance with a song from their "I Love Rock 'N Roll" called "Victim of Circumstance". They performed "I Hate Myself For Loving You", too. Before they replaced a song in their set, which was third called "Light of Day" a cover song from "Bruce Springsteen" for "Oh, Woe Is Me" from "I Love Rock 'N Roll". Their performance was for forty-five mins.-one hour. After a half hour intermission, "Poison" walked on stage to perform their full, eight song set, and for trying to get the audience, and crowd to get into it more, they were good. They started their eight song performance with a song from their "Look At What the Cat Dragged In" called "Look At What the Cat Dragged In". From earlier in the tour, they included one of their other songs back in the set called "Unskinny Bop", and the guitarist "C.C. DeVille", performed a guitar solo. "C.C." paid tribute to "Edward Van Halen" by including a little bit of "Eruption" in it, too. Their performance was for one hour. After a half hour intermission, Def Leppard walked on stage to perform, and started their seventeen song set with a song from their new "Diamond Star Halos" called "Take What You Want". I thought they were awesome, and amazing. Before they replaced two songs in their set, which was the second, and eighth called "Fire It Up" from "Diamond Star Halos" for "Let It Go" from "High 'N' Dry", and "Excitable" from "Hysteria" for "Promises" from "Euphoria". During their set, there were a lot of lasers, especially the song "Rocket". From their last few tours, but not including their setlists at the Joint O2 Arena, London, and Zappos Theater at, and in Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, I think it was the best because of not being the same. If I would consider them as a nostalgia act, I don't know about going that far, but they have been worth seeing performing in concert. Their performance was for one hour, and a half. After a half hour intermission, Motley Crue walked on stage using smoke to perform, and started their fifteen song set with a song from their "Girls, Girls, Girls" called "Wild Side". I thought they were not bad. They may've sounded better, than on their "Final Tour" from 2014-2015. I recognized, and knew "Saints of Los Angeles", and "the Dirt (Est. 1981)". There wasn't a Tommy Lee drum solo, and Mick Mars guitar solo. About that, I won't say anything else. Motley Crue's performance was for one hour, and a half. Even though Motley Crue was a closer, on this tour, them, and Def Leppard have been co-headlining, and taking turns by switching, and alternating at closing. Overall, for me, I think "the Stadium Tour" concert was pretty good. Edited Saturday at 01:57 PM by Derek19

Derek19
Def Leppard, announced that on May 19th, they'll be releasing another new c.d., and album called "Drastic Symphonies". It is a deconstruction, re-imagined, and rebuilt of some of their well-known songs, and hidden gems, which they did with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Here is the song listing of it. In other Def Leppard news, Rick Allen, was assaulted outside of the Four Seasons in Fort Lauderdale on March 13, a day after the band, and group performed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, when he stepped outside to have a cigarette. He provided a sworn statement to police indicating that he intends to prosecute. As of now, I would think he has been at home, in a safe place, where he is living, recovering, relaxing, and taking it easy. The Cat 3
I love Def Leppard and was excited with the surprise news of "Drastic Symphonies". My fingers raced to Amazon to place my preorder. My enthusiasm was cooled by hearing the release of the "Animal" video tease. My only hope is that the rest of the album has some teeth to it. My mind immediately went to something along the lines of Metallica's "S&M". Nice, loud and dramatic...sadly, not the case here. Being such a fanboy and a Def Leppard completist, I'll leave my preorder in place and hope the rest of the album is better. Give it a listen and you be the judge...
