I think it's the last tour yes. 100 percent yes. We might see one off shows now and then. but enjoy this tour people. in my heart i believe this is it.

I believe this statement is correct. Thinking everyone should see this tour if you can.

Yes, I'm in Oklahoma now so Tulsa is the must attend date for me. I might fly back and catch the NYC/NJ date with old friends. My head and gut tells me this is it.

In his radio interview a couple days ago, Alex was asked about skipping Cleveland. He said they're 'looking into it' and 'some things didn't line up right', so he's vaguely hinting that they'll try to play it. But then again, Al has not been the most reliable source of information over the years. Perhaps he's hinting at a 2nd leg.

On the other hand, he said that he's had a harder time getting up for this tour. So yeah, it's probably the last one.

Well if that's his only problem, he should just take some Viagra with him on the tour

I can imagine. In the Rush book I have, he said he didn't know how he was going to get through R30, and that was ten years ago.

Having read Neil's most recent book, I do believe this is it, and I sense Alex and Ged had to twist his arm pretty hard to committ to tour this year. They may play select shows here and there (Toronto, LA, NYC) in the coming years but I doubt we see a long tour with full stage production after this one.

In a way, I'm ok with that, they'll still be going out while in great form, not what they were in their 20's or 30's but still capable of awesome musicianship. I just turned 55, can't imagine doing what they do at 60 plus...

I've seen too many of my favorite bands from the 70's (Stones, Who, Jethro Tull, etc) carry on well past their prime and it's sad really.

Yes, it is not only sad, but embarrassing to watch as well, especially when you remember what they once were.

I believe this is it. So if they tour this year and then think about touring again in the future, they will be mid to late sixties. This is it folks!

As stated numerous times prior to the Clockwork Angels Tour!

What we know at this point is, they have said this will be the last tour of this magnitude.

But we also know that you cannot tour like Rush does (with the huge logistical requirements, big stage show, all of the people on the payroll) without doing at least 3 shows per week for an extended period. The finances simply do not support a "small tour" of the magnitude of a Rush show.

So, the options would be:

1. Do a smaller show (minimal projection screens, much smaller venues) with a smaller crew, thus allowing for fewer dates that are more spread out.

2. Play a few one-off festival type shows until they just decide to stop doing them.

3. Change their minds and go on another major tour after this.

I think the odds are very high that option 2 above will be what happens after this tour (be it one or two legs).

It's funny, I remember seeing Kansas, after Livgren left, after Steve Walsh's voice went out, at an outdoor venue in Upstate NY with maybe, maybe, 1,500 people there. It ruined my image of the band even though all but two of the members were not even original.

I detest Kevin Cronin, but I heard a live tune from him recently and he sounded like a wounded chipmonk with REO. They've been touring at least 10 years too long. Give it up Kevin! HIs ego won't allow it.

Could you imagine Zeppelin doing something now? UGH! It would incinerate every good memory.

Rush's members have the good sense not to do this. Any good fan would support that.

I agree with everything you said. They'll play live again, maybe a benefit like the SARS benefit kind of thing. But I think this is the last big tour and they've said as much right on their website. Pay attention folks, they've come right out and told you this is pretty much it. Goiod for them and good for us for getting them for so long.

I am treating it as if it is. Hitting up 5 shows all across the country. If they announce a second leg or another tour in the future, great, I will see them again. If not, I will know I went to as many as I could without getting fired for never being at work.

As much as this could be the 1st (and possibly only) leg of the last "tour of this magnitude", it could also be a warm up tour. They could go into the studio after the 1st leg, record and release a new cd and make some adjustments to an already up and running show. They could be back on the road by January with a fresh tour and could hit any one of the 1st leg cities again toward the end of that. Or, they could ride off into the sunset.

Oh, and they need to bring back Alex's rants... :D

They might add a SHORT European leg in the fall or early 2015. But it feels like this'll be the only real extended R40 tour.

They're coming down to one-offs and the occasional festival, I'd think.

Neil and Alex are close to done. It's been a good ride. We all know it. They can't play forever.

See 'em while you can, kids.

Comments like this I feel is what's wrong with most classic rock fans. You do not appreciate the fact that these old guys are still out there performing, you'd rather complain and compare them to what they used to be.

Def not there last tour I can see them going the Rolling Stones Route maybe ever 3-4 yrs a album and back to the hour and half shows with my guess a opening act? Wow that sounds crazy saying that they havnt had a opening act since the "Counterparts Tour" 93-94 and that had great opening acts I got to see "The Melvins",Primus","I Mother Earth" & "Candlebox" which I really didn't are for but I have been huge fans of The Melvins,Primus for yrs at that time and I Mother Earth IMO was a great ban and full of potential.

So there will be smaller tours which is cool but will the do anymore albums? One wonders...I'll say yes but only if they want to and not contractually attached to do them cause then they will be rushed and sound dragged kinda like "Snakes And Arrows" my least fav Rush album but with CA came out I was blown away "so the boys still go the skillz to pay the bills"

I too think this is it.

I imagine there could be occasional one-off concerts or short sets here and there for charity or awards shows or something of that nature. But as far as Rush taking their big two-set show with lasers, fire, and film on the road? This is it. The band already said as much.

And as much as I hate to suggest it, I'm also not anticipating another album. If this is the last major tour, as the band stipulated, then how can there be another major album? To release a new album and not take it on the road would be unprecedented for Rush, that's simply not their M.O.

Just my two cents, but I would savor this tour.
