In discussing the tour and setlist in last night's interview with Jim Ladd, Neil twice used the term "chronilogical". So with that in mind, I came up with this setlist prediction that concludes with one song from each four album era.

SET 1

R40 Medley

Working Man

By-Tor & Snowdog

In The End

Fly By Night

In The Mood

2112: Grand Finale

Tom Sawyer

Spirit of Radio

Freewill

Xanadu ~ Hemispheres: Prelude

YYZ ~ drum solo

Alex Solo ~ The Trees or Closer to the Heart

La Villa

SET 2

Animate

Driven

Subdivisions

Enemy Within or The Weapon

Time Stand Still or Nobody's Hero

Marathon

Distant Early Warning or Red Sector A

Where's My Thing ~ drum solo

Resist (Acoustic)

Roll the Bones or Show Don't Tell

Secret Touch

Far Cry

ENCORE

2112: Overture

New World Man

Headlong Flight

Limelight

Chronological speaking...I think a long, maybe 20 minute, opening instrumental medley highlighting the first 5 albums is a strong possibility....

Finding My Way, Anthem, Working Man

By-Tor, Fly By Night,

Didacts & Narpets, Lakeside Park

2112, Passage To Bankok

Cygnus, A Farewell to Kings

Hemispheres, Circumstances....into a full version of The Trees

Then a more conventional playlist starting with Freewill...of course.

Hi all - my first post. First saw Rush in March of 1977 in London, Ontario.

You never know what they are thinking so realistic is a bit subjective. This, to me, strikes a balance between fan favorites (they could leave Tom Sawyer out and I'd be fine with that), covering the whole catelogue, deeper cuts, and playing a long show while keeping Geddy's word count as low as possible...

Xanadu (full)

Red Barchetta

Ceiling Unlimited/Earthshine (night A/B)

Lock & Key

Closer to The Heart (with jam ending)

Everyday Glory/Ghost of a Chance (night A/B)

Cinderalla Man/Farewell to Kings (night A/B)

Marathon/Grand Designs (night A/B)

Show Don't Tell

Headlong Flight (w mini drum solo)

The Spirit of Radio

Freewill

Jacob's Ladder

Entre Nous

Different Strings

Natural Science

Fly By Night

YYZ (Drum Solo)

The Garden (acousitic)

Cygnus X-1 - Hemispheres mostly instrumental mashup.

Working Man (if they are willing to leave out the first album, insert By-Tor here)

Countdown

Tom Sawyer

Bastile Day (with Geddy's old Tear Drop shaped white and blue sunburst Fender that used to be used for encores - anyone else remeber that one?)

La Villa Strangiato (full)

Perchance to dream!

G'day folks

First time post. Well I have to confess to being super-excited for the R40 tour as it will be my first ever Rush live experience. Being Australian means I've never had the privilege of seeing them play - for some reason the band just isn't popular Down Under. At least, not popular enough to take a tour there.

Anyway, I have taken the plunge and booked flights and managed to grab a ticket for the show at The Forum in LA. Still can't quite believe I'm finally going to see them - I've been a fan for about 30 years.

So, I know a lot of you long-time Rush concert goers would love them to play a whole lot of obscure album tracks, but I'd love a 'greatest hits' package myself!

In no particular order:

Tom Sawyer

Dreamline

Spirit of Radio

Xanadu

Red Sector A

Distant Early Warning

Red Barchetta

Force Ten

Time Stand Still

One Little Victory

Stick it Out

The Main Monkey Business

Just my two cents worth... :)

If by realistic you mean within Ged's vocal range/singable, then here's mine. I actually spent a stupid amount of time listening to this setlist and making sure it would flow nicely like at a concert.

I attempted a largely chronological setlist, that is mindful of songs they will probably skip because they have been played as much as their stature merits in recent years (Red Sector A, for example), that accounts for the likelihood that it will be heavy on the hits and signature songs (final tour of this magnitude, you gotta dance with the person who brought you), but that also believes they will sincerely attempt a few deep cuts and concessions to the fans.

I am going to have to rethink this set-list with all the interview stuff, Neils new kit etc. It will be similar....but some interesting changes.

The idea of the set list will be the same as it always is, to please the hard core fans and to play enough staples to sell tickets to the not so hard core fans. This time, however, expect them to go much more instrumental heavy. I will say that Rush does not know what all they are playing yet, but i do know that they are hitting every period and really "jamming" to the oldies. Get it? Jamming? Those of you that think songs like Anthem and Cygnus X-1 will be played are unrealistic about Geddy having the vocal chords of a 25 year old. There will be far more instrumentals and medley's then ever, and this could very well be Rush's last tour.

Working Man/Beneath Between Behind/Fountain of Lamneth/Passage to Bangkok instrumental Medley

Limelight

YYZ

New World Man

Cygnus X-1/Hemispheres extended instrumental

Kid Gloves

I would love nothing more than to see this setlist. I think they touch all the bases here. I think they just don't care to ever revisit Caress of Steel in any meaningful way. Now that I know Neil will have no second kit behind him and no rotating drum platform I would have to axe Mystic Rhythms and Red Sector A.

So replace those two tunes with:
