Segue Myles
Lorraine suggested a gushy Presto thread. I will start: It it great!

Detonator
Brilliant! Pure genius! I love every second of this album. It has jazz, pop, funk and even metal. It might not have any Rush's top-5 songs ever, but every single song is very good. When I listen to Presto, I listen to it like Tommy or The Wall. It's an "entity". Some people complain about "thin production" but even THAT works. It's so... PRESTO!.

Lorraine
A bottle of Rolaids I have at hand. And a paper bag. Just in case. I may hyperventilate. Or worse. I'm all set. :)
bluefox4000
Presto is freakin' an awesome pop album......right up there with Toto's stuff.......but it's no Hemispheres. Mick Edited December 27, 2014 by bluefox4000
Lorraine
I have to admit that next to The Pass, I think Red Tide is one of the best songs on the album. I think Geddy's voice is at its best on this album.

Lorraine
I love the way, at the end of Red Tide, Geddy fades out singing "And the red tide kisses the shore...". But it's no Hemispheres. Mick?
Detonator
Presto is freakin' an awesome pop album......right up there with Toto's stuff.......but it's no Hemispheres. Mick Toto has never, ever made a pop album that is even remotely close to Presto's quality and depth. Take this from a guy who knows Toto's discography intimately and has seem them 4 times live. Toto's "great" songs from ALL their albums combined are: EndlessHome of the BraveAfricaStranger in TownHold the lineStop loving youChild's Anthem/I'll supply the love Hmm... there could be 1 or 2 more but that's it. Lorraine
It doesn't say much for Presto that by the 11th post on a thread dedicated to gushing over the album we are already discussing that Toto band. :tsk: Gush!!!
laughedatbytime
Gush #2: It spawned a thread that made me want to go back to listen to Toto's "I'll Supply the Love". Hemispheres could never do that. It makes me want to go back and listen to Hemispheres.
len(songs)
I really like the first 3 and Available Light but the middle tracks never really rise above "good", making for some pretty tedious listening...
Lorraine
I'll gush over it by myself. I have to do everything around here these days.... I'm listening to Scars. Great bongos.

Lorraine
The only thing I don't care for in Available Light is when Geddy sings "available light."
bluefox4000
I really enjoy Anagram........which is a track that gets dumped on......but it's catchy fun pop.....which Rush by now proved they could make but ehhhhh.......it's no Hemispheres. MickThe lyrics to Anagram were originally slated to be sung during La Villa, but Geddy actually had to pay attention to the complex music he was playing, so they saved them for something musically simple.
