Lyrics that are effecting you right now

This isn't meant to be a thread about the best lyrics.. or the most profound lyrics but rather a thread about what lyrics are hitting you hard RIGHT NOW?

Right now for me it's the chorus of The Anarchist:

The lenses inside of me that paint the world black

The pools of poison, the scarlet mist

That's spilled over into rage

The things I've always been denied, an early promise that's somehow died

A missing part of me that grows around me like a cage...

Hope that whatever is frustrating or getting you down makes a turn for the better

It's funny, I'm not in a dark place at all right now.

I just had some connection to that line at that moment even though I'm in a really good place.

We don't have to talk

We don't even have to touch

I can feel your presence

In the silence that we share

I never meant what you're thinking

That's not what I meant at all

Well I guess we all have these feelings

We can't leave unreconciled

Some of them burned in our ceilings

Some of them learned as a child

The things that we're concealing

Will never let us grow

Time will do it's healing

You've got to let it go....

We are planets to each other

Drifting in our orbits

To a brief eclipse

Each of us a world apart

Alone and yet together

Like two passing ships

For me, it is these very true and very sad lyrics from Losing It:

Some are born to move the world -

To live their fantasies

But most of us just dream about

The things we'd like to be

Sadder still to watch it die

Than never to have known it

For you - the blind who once could see -

The bell tolls for thee...

The lyrics of Counterparts. Peart writes honestly and bluntly about the reality of relationships, and keeps them down to earth. The whole album moves me, but Cold Fire, Speed Of Love, Nobody's Hero and Double Agent stand out.

Excellent album.

I think everyone has regrets when they get older. Things they wish they'd done. It amazes me how many of Neil's lyrics are about getting older, even when he was young. Old soul in a young body.
