70s - Hemispheres

80s - Natural Science/The Camera Eye

90s -T4E

00s - Earthshine

10s - Who cares?

Loads and loads and loads of people! Not keen on Clockwork Angels? Not even Headlong Flight, Seven Cities of Gold?

Listend to CA once, was underwhelmed, never gave it a second spin.....will have to get round to it some day.

I'm with you. I've probably listened to it ten times trying really hard to like it/get it, but the only song I really like is The Anarchist. I can see why people think it's the best thing they've done in years, maybe since The Old Days, but it just doesn't do it for me. Except for The Garden there doesn't seem to be much melody or subtlety. Circumstances is the least noteworthy song from Hemispheres, yet it would be the star on CA. Terry Brown where are you!?

I've posted this before, but everyday through 7th grade I would listen to Xanadu before I went to school, once before or after dinner, and once before I went to bed. All with Panasonic headphones so that I didn't miss a note. In 9th grade I had recorded The Spirit of St. Louis show off of the radio, and would go to sleep to By-Tor/Xanadu every night. Will always be the most special song to me.

If by "era" then:

Bluesy era RUSH-Fly By Night: Anthem

Epic/Prog era Caress of Steel-Hemispheres: Xanadu

Mainstream era Permanent Waves-Moving Pictures: Natural Science

Synth era Signals-Hold Your Fire: Turn The Page

Return to Guitar era Presto-Test For Echo: Available Light

New era Vapor Trails-Clockwork Angels: The Anarchist

If by decade then:

1974-1978: Xanadu

1980-1989: Available Light (though I always considered Presto a 90's album because of the stylistic similarity to RTB as opposed to the rest of the 80's)

1991-1996: Cut To The Chase

2002-2007: Malignant Narcissism

2012-2012: The Anarchist

Like this thread. Only downside is that - no one's actually going to read your post in this mess!

These are subject to change upon further inspection, I'm just going off the top of my sleepy head here:

Bluesy Era 1974-early 1975: By-Tor and the Snow Dog

Epic Era late 1975-1978: The Trees, A Farewell to Kings

Mainstream Era 1980-1981: Freewill

Synth Era 1982-1987: Afterimage

Return of Guitar Era AKA Weakest Point 1989-1996: Stick it Out? Maybe.

New Era 2002-2012: Headlong Flight

I guess I'll do an "era" one as well

Bluesy era: By-Tor and the Snowdog

Epic Era: The Trees

Mainstream Era: Limelight

Synth Era: Subdivisions or Distant Early Warning

Presto-TFE: Stick It Out

Post-hiatus: The Anarchist or Secret Touch
