Took a drive to the NJ shore today. Stopped by Asbury Park to check out the old Convention Hall. I saw Black Sabbath here in '72 and '75. It's still standing.

Cool looking building.

...and it's right on the boardwalk. I didn't get that view.

Jersey shore today. The beach towns built berms on the beaches to protect the towns from the potential storm surge from hurricane Joaquin. Lessons learn from hurricane Sandy.

This was taken this morning.

From bottom to top: the moon, Venus, right next to Venus is Mars, but it is too faint to see,the last dot at the top is Jupiter. Below the moon, on the horizon, is Mercury, but it is hidden by the trees and buildings. And just below Mercury is the Sun. I don't know if I've ever seen the planets aligned like this. It's been happening for a couple of weeks, now.

Wow, that's amazing. That reminds of a Nightwish album cover

This is an interesting photo, especially the contrast between the motion-blurry water and the crisp-clear rocks. Did you use a telephoto lens, perchance?

Actually, no. I used a wide angle lens at about 20mm :)

Okay, so much for me thinking I know what I'm talking about! :)

That's alright. At least you called it a telephoto lens, I hate it when people (mainly my mum) call them 'zoom lenses'.

Fantastic!

I constantly forget this thread exists. I sometimes find myself wanting to post TOG taken landscape shots in the Post Pictures of Yourself thread, when I could be here!

 Do it, TOG!

Unfortunately, in 320 miles of driving today, not a single photograph was captured. :|

That's understandable, as you had more pressing matters!

(Oh boy, that seems like an atrocious pun  )

You can share photographic evidence of other adventures with us here, though!

Man your pics are sweet. But I can understand not always wanting to take pics. I did a whole month backpacking thru Europe and not one photograph. Actually I think I did take one but it was my shadow on the ground in front of me as I was walking.
