My first go at star trails last night. I did originally go out to get some meteor shower shots but I didn't get any good ones so decided to try out star trails.. There's a satellite or a plane going through the middle of my stars unfortunately.

I used Lightroom & StarStaX

141 images

Exposure: 30 seconds @ f/4

Focal length: 10mm

ISO: 2500

Camera: Sony a77

Lens: Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6

This is really wonderful! I love how you can see the different colors of the stars. And if that thing moved so far during the 30 sec. exposure, I bet it was the International Space Station.

Thanks x1yyz. The satellite moved over 3 or 4 images I think. It's funny how it cuts directly through the North Star.

A little timelapse I did shows it go across :)

(best to watch in fullscreen, you can't really see it otherwise)

After 46 years I finally made it to Woodstock. They have a great museum, which can take up to two hours to tour if you watch all of the movies and read all the exhibits ( which I did ). Brought a picnic lunch and sat at picnic tables overlooking the site of the concert. A wonderful day.

I was just watching the movie on TV last weekend, your photo is such a contrast to all the mud! Looks like a beautiful area! I didn't know there was a museum; sounds like a good place to visit sometime!

That's really cool to see, thanks for posting! Kinda wild to think of The Who rockin' through two dozen songs at 3:00 a.m. Nowadays, I'm thinking they'd opt for 3:00 in the afternoon. ;)

This is a pic I posted to my FB page as part of a series showing the progression of last night's blood moon. My brother pointed out that I had managed to capture "The Belt of Venus". I had to wiki that to see what that was. Pretty cool accident on my part.

Great photo! I had never heard of this before, either- very interesting! Thanks for putting this up!
