I shot this with my iPhone 6 on a recent visit to Morin Heights, QC. This is Lake Perry located behind the LeStudio complex.

Bullfighters are either very brave or very crazy. I shot this at the 2015 SC High School Finals Rodeo.

Bullfighters are assholes that poison bulls in front of a crown. Rodeo clowns, otoh, I think they're a little crazy! But necessary.

The view from my ride this afternoon. Taken from atop Coyote Ridge in southern Marin County, looking south to San Francisco.

I'll bet Domino dug it

As we neared the top of the ridge there was a steep part and he decided he wanted to run up. So I let him. And it was the slowest canter ever, moving along at the speed of a walk :)

In rodeo they are also called Bullfighters. There are usually 2 covering each run. A rodeo clown is a totally different thing. They provide entertainment more than anything. A bullfighters job in rodeo is to get the bulls attention once the rider has come off. They put there lives on the line to save the rider. Good ones usually don't get hurt.

Ah, I had always heard these guys referred to as clowns, not bullfighters. I wonder if that's a regional term?

No, I don't think it is. I've shot rodeo all over the eastern half of the US for over 10 years. All I've ever heard is Bullfighter. They only work the Bull Riding event (and sometimes untying calves during Calf Roping). The clown usually works the entire rodeo providing entertainment for the crowd with jokes, skits, etc. Many clown's also use a barrel during bull riding, but they usually don't do any bullfighting. Google "Trent McFarland". He is a rodeo clown ( and a pretty good one).

Yes at least three times. My wife is half Japanese half American. Her mother is from Kyoto and had relatives in this camp. They have really increased the funding for this place and now they have the barracks replicas.

Rolling Stones produce a shirt/poster for each stop on the tour. Tonight is the last night of this tour and it's in Quebec.

What do you think of this one ? hmmm.

The last of the Lilly's for the season. I had already cut down the majority of them a few weeks ago but these types must just bloom later to my surprise. The one with the one white bloom on it I can't remember what it's called but I planted it maybe 6 or 7 years ago and to my knowledge it has never flowered even once. It always greens up and grows but this is the first time I have ever seen a bloom on it. ???? Anyway....

Cool,

I bought some years ago for my girlfriend. They would always grow each summer and not flower. Now they do every summer.

My first go at star trails last night. I did originally go out to get some meteor shower shots but I didn't get any good ones so decided to try out star trails.. There's a satellite or a plane going through the middle of my stars unfortunately.

I used Lightroom & StarStaX

141 images

Exposure: 30 seconds @ f/4

Focal length: 10mm

ISO: 2500

Camera: Sony a77

Lens: Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6
