What do you call those little USB drives?

Some call it a thumb drive, some call it a jump drive, some call it other things....

I've always called it a "jump drive."

Is thumb drive a brand name or just a nickname? It's funny how things like a Kleenex can become more common than a tissue.

I imagine if the president of Curad cut his finger he would ask someone for a Band-Aid.

No, not a brand name. At NASA we were all issued "jump drives" so I just kept calling it that because that was the first name for these devices that I was really exposed to.

Yeah, I like flash drive. Because every time I say it I either think about the awesome superhero or the Flash Gordon theme song. :D

Zip drive was a pretty short-lived portable storage system. It was kind of like a fatter floppy.

I usually call them thumb drives. Are the really small ones thumb-nail drives?

 Pinky nail drive if they're even smaller?

I call them USB drive/key/stick sometimes.

I have a USB attached external hard drive, but I just call that my external drive.

USB Memory stick because this is what everyone called them when they first came out. It's horribly inaccurate but I can't bring myself to stop calling them that.
