Song for where you live

Recommended Posts

New York has songs like New York State of Mind and NY, NY... Chicago has Sweet Home Chicago...

Which song would you pick to represent where you live?

For me, I'd have to go with Smalltown by JCM

James Taylor Carolina In My Mind

He doesn't specify which Carolina he is singing about but its a great song and I am going to say its about South Carolina for sh*ts and giggles. I wish I could post the song/video but I am to lame to do so..... :(

Bergenfield by Tom Russell. Can't find a link to the song, I actually had to search up my own town on Wikipedia to see if there was actually any song about my town. Otherwise, I would've thrown in Trial of Tears by Dream Theater cause I go to college in Manhattan and it's a fitting song to listen to during the days it rains in the city.

The title means Home To Aarhus. I could translate the lyrics but sometimes music is funnier when you don't understand it :)

I can't help myself. I really like this city I live in and want to show you.

It looks like a nice town. Are the buildings newer or older (did they survive WWII)?

They're older. Denmark came out of WWII without too much damage because of the collaboration with the Germans until 1943. Most of the damage came from sabotage and bombing raids from RAF. I think if the government hadn't pursued a policy of collaboration we would probably have had it much worse. But that we de facto was allied with Germany until 1943 is heavily downplayed.
