My One Constant Complaint...

I read a lot. Always have. Sometimes it's good to be driven to the dictionary to look up a word, but I feel most of the time it's not. Especially when reading fiction, I really don't want to stop in the middle of a story to go look up some big word I've never seen before. Like the poster above me mentioned - I would have to think that using the vocabulary that comes to the writer naturally makes most sense. So if normally you use and understand 15 syllable words, well, then more power to you.

On a some what similar subject: I read a ton of sci-fi. Nothing drives me more crazy than when an author makes up character and place names that are unpronounceable. I get the whole trying to create an alien or unknown world, but geez, when a character's name is Chozckhjpofhls, I just can't deal with it!
