Surprisingly little variety, out of the nearly 4500 songs I have on my iPod. Seriously, my 'artists' list is 106 entries long, and the first 15 songs on shuffle only brought out basically eight different artists? I'm not impressed!

I've had an iPod Classic for almost four years- I've never filled the whole thing, but right now it has about 125MB worth of tunes on it- and I have never in my life done the shuffle thing on it. I've always been a full-album or full-show experience kind of guy. Maybe I should give it a try? It seems that all the cool kids are doin' it...

This is a good thread, by the way. :)

Did I say MB? I meant GB. About 125GB worth. I was a few digits off...

I've got an 80 gig one and have 5405 songs on it. I've still got about 25 gigs free still. I bought this iPOD back in 2009 and it costs $250 but it looks like i've got my money's worth since it's lasted this long. It has crashed on me a couple times and it's a pain in the ass to get everything back on it when that happens. It's been two years since the last crash though and i've had no other issues with mine.

Why do people still use iPods when you can have music on you phone these days?

Why would you listen to music on a crappy phone speaker? Everything has their purpose, the iPod is for music and the phone is for calls, texts and now, the internet. I don't need to have everything on my phone. Plus, with a music collection as big as mine, the iPod is the ideal device to have it on when you're not at home.

I like to keep my gadgets separated. If I lose my phone, I lose only my phone. I forget my iPod, I still have my phone and Kindle. And so on...

Mine holds 160GB, and it's ALL music- I don't have pics or videos or whatever else on it, even thought I could. I have, like I said, about 4400-4500 songs that add up to about 125 GB- quite a few of those tunes are up close to a half hour long. (Yeah, I like that kind of stuff). ;)

And I dont have all my music on my phone, only a few Rush albums. Because I only listen to one or two albums each time I am out. Rest of the music is on my computer.
