Rod in Toronto Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 "And I´m the only black guy in Robocop who´s not a criminal"... :D :D :D So is Robocop in the theaters in the States yet? I would watch it just for the director, who did the awesome Elite Squad.

I would watch it just for the director, who did the awesome Elite Squad. From what I've read from some critics (i.e. Rotten Tomatoes) the satire from the original isn't in this one. Too bad since one of the best scenes from that version was the fake toy commercial that reflected the fears of the Soviet Era. Then again, maybe that sort of thing doesn't sit well with international distribution. So, blowing s**t up it is, I guess. 1

I don´t know...I saw an interview with the director where he mentions a lot of clashes between him and the studio because he wanted to "get his vision for the main character across and focus on the story more than special effects, because Hollywood is doing more and more of the same these days, blablabla". It may be part of the promotion for the movie, but if you had seen his previous movies, you´d be as curious as I am to check it out. Elite Squad is awesome.
invisible airwave Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 (edited) What if I told you I'm not Samuel L. Jackson? Seriously, though, I've lived in SoCal my whole life and I'm used to Sam Rubin. He's such a hack journalist even back when he was on Reelz Channel back when it was actually a good channel (RIP Movie Mob) that focused on actual movie news instead of tabloid junk. Seriously, the morning entertainment report is nothing but teenybopper pop and Kartrashian propaganda. Edited February 13, 2014 by invisible airwave
