uhhmmm.... er... Driven probably.

I love Geddy's bass solo on the Different Stages live version.. if you listen really closely there is this guy in the background that yells, "It's okay Alex, shake it off!"

I don't know.. I thought it was hilarious.  biggrin.gif

I love that bit too, I Usually bump the volume up for that bit aswell,

I voted Driven, but i love Limbo too, Especially on the rio dvd, But Driven kicks ass cool.gif

Hard to vote against "Driven" but since you folks are making me choose the title track is my fave, by a hair.

And "Dog Years" may be silly, but I like it a bunch, so THERE! tongue.gif

alot of people dogged Dog Years as a bad song. I think it is a bit silly for sure, but is one of my favs. great drumming by the professor

I love much of the material on T4E. I was so tempted to vote for Driven, but in the end I voted for Limbo.

I can never get enough of it.

I can learn to resist

Anything but temptation

I can learn to co-exist

With anything but pain

I can learn to compromise

Anything but my desires

I can learn to get along

With all the things I can't explain

I can learn to resist

Anything but frustration

I can learn to persist

With anything but aiming low

I can learn to close my eyes

To anything but injustice

I can learn to get along

With all the things I don't know

You can surrender

Without a prayer

But never really pray

Pray without surrender

You can fight

Without ever winning

But never ever win

Without a fight

I know you just read those lyrics and sang that song in your head.

Who can resist seeing Rush lyrics and not recall for the briefest moment what your brain has recorded a thousand times.

I have a kind of funny story to tell about T4E. The first time I heard this album was when a friend of mine who is a drummer put it on in his studio and attempted to show off behind his drum set.

I walked away thinking this one sucks and never made any effort to buy the CD.

More than Five years later just before Vapors Trails was set to be released I bought Neils book Ghost Rider. After reading GR I was compelled the get a copy of T4E.

I thought Man-O-man what an awesome work of art. A few weeks later VT was released and now I had two whole Rush CDs to sink my teeth into.

I'm willing to kick a vote to Virtuality.

Musically, this is one of their best ever. The lyrics keep dragging it down. But I have come to grips that this was written in a condesending, sarcastic tone, and can (almost) forgive lines like "net boy net girl" "put your message in a modem".
