YYZumbi
Could someone please explain this for me? I got the sector boxes 2011-remastereds as christmas gift, and according to Rush website, they are supose to be 24-bits, but when I rip them to my computer, to flac, they only become 16-bits-files. Why..? Thanks.
Dylan2712
Any and every track on an audio CD can only be 16-bit / 44,100kHz. What you're think are probably the 5.1 DVD's which are 24-bit and 96,000kHz.

Bluefunk
They also released the Sectors tracks as 24 bit 96KHz Flac files for download only; I thik you had to get those from HDTracks. Nice Christmas gift, though!
gudbuytjane
I think maybe it means the digital remastering from analog tape was done at 24/96 (as opposed to 16/44.1), so that part was done at better quality and that means the eventual CD 16/44.1 would contain a better representation of the original analog even if it was downsampled? This is all conjecture, of course, I imagine we need an audio engineer to explain. So... anyone know an audio engineer? :)
