DigitalDan
Anyone able to play the concert DVD on Windows 8? I have media center installed (not media player). I've even tried vlc-player but it crashes. Media center says something about not supporting the resolution. Plays fine on Windows 7. Hate DRM! The Analog Grownup
That's a bummer. I would suggest you return the dvd under claims that it is defect. Doesn't happen that often but it does happen. Either way they should give you a new one, and then I hope the problem will be over.
Bluefunk
Plays fine on our Win 8 laptop. What is the exact error message you're getting? Can you play other DVDs? Edited November 25, 2013 by Bluefunk

DigitalDan
Looks like my dvd codecs got corrupted after upgrading to 8.1. Had to install 3rd party PowerDVD to get it working again. Thanks.

I've even tried vlc-player but it crashes. Media center says something about not supporting the resolution. Plays fine on Windows 7. Hate DRM! Correction - Windows 8 can't play a perfectly good DVD. Get a Mac, mack.
jjgittes
Note that if windows 8 came on the computer, there is a chance the version is flawed. I purchased a Lenovo brand computer this past summer and got an error when I tried to upgrade from the installed version. The tech support guy told me he has been getting similar calls. Windows 8 is terrible. Microsoft is becoming like a car company-they can freely put out flawed products and get away with it until enough people scream. EagleMoon
Windows 8 blows. I've heard nothing but bad reviews on it. I'm going to be needing to get a new computer here before long and I just dread having to get anything with Windows 8 on it. Hopefully Windows 9 will be out before I have to do it or heaven forbid I have to get a Mac.
