Rush in Theaters

Just an FYI for those going...I was contemplating taking the drive to Duluth (4 hours) to see the show on the big screen (I did this for Time Machine and it was excellent on the big screen). Then, I read this on the Radio.com website regarding their exclusive dvd preview starting on Thursday:

You can also see Clockwork Angels Tour on the big screen; more than 350 select movie theaters around the country will be showing it as a one-night-only event on November 18 (though “Grand Designs,” “The Body Electric,” “Territories” and “Middletown Dreams” are exclusive to Radio.com and won’t be included in the theatrical release).
I would have been exceptionally pissed if I got there and these four songs were edited out. Just an FYI, sorry if this has been discussed somewhere else. More info up on the RIAB website regarding this Thursday's exclusive dvd song releases on that website.

Ouch! Thanks for sharing. Am now having doubts. Although 2 hours and 45 minutes (the length with all the songs) is an AWFULLY LONG time to sit in your theater seat. Somehow this just seems wrong, though. You would think the official site would share something like this.

Major disappointed now....

I will be attending the show in Boca Raton at the Cinemark Theater off Airport Blvd. My son as well as my close friend (bass player in my band) will be going with me.

Should be a lot of fun.

I don't see why they felt the need to shorten it. What's 20 extra minutes?

The 20 minutes are extras, I assume, as they aren't being presented in the same order as with the concerts. They basically took the modified night A setlist (modified with one extra CA song) and put in the swap out song for the other night as extras at the end. To have the movie seem like a concert, they are just showing the concert. If they put in the other 4 songs, it would be like pausing Avengers during the credits and showing deleted scenes in random order.

Any Ohioans/Clevelanders going? I'm gonna hit up Cinemark in Valley View.

I wish... It's on a Monday night and I work on the afternoon shift :(

Plus it's playing locally at Tinseltown in North.Canton. :sigh:

Anyone in NoVa going? Considering it if I have absolutely nothing to do.

But why? They won't be playing any Journey influenced Rush songs?

Bastard. I'll bring my smartphone and listen to journey songs the whole movie.

But seriously, seeing this type of movie will be like watching a porn in a theatre with other ppl.

Might get twice the Rush in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles the next few days. The tribute band Caress of Steel plays near me Friday the 15th, then the film plays just a few miles away on Monday. Talk about a chronicle of Rush - the tribute band focuses on everything before 1981, then right into "Signals" and beyond. Nice!

Majorly bummed that the songs The Body Electric and Territories (noooooooo!) are cut from the screening. Still have plans to go to the show with 1-3 other people in Duluth, MN...looking forward to it!

I saw Caress of Steel a few weeks ago! My mom and I were blown away, they were great!
