And now for a serious answer...

Yes, they are functional and serve a purpose.

The mirror is focused directly on Neil and it's so Geddy doesn't have to physically turn around and look back to see when Neil is going to start certain songs, like Tom Sawyer for example.

Normally mirrors don't reflect Lee's face without cracking. Maybe he's wearing them in..?

:rfl: No doubt one of the funniest lines I have read on this forum. :notworthy:

List of Rush topics that have nothing to do with the music.........that I thought one of us didn't care about

1. The engine oil in Neil's bike

2. The logo's on Geddy's shirt

3. The mirrors beside Geddy on the stage

:wtf: Just curious....................

You may notice I wasn't bitching about the brand, color, reflective capabilities, the finish, the angle they point, their weight, or their lack/excess of bling. I simply am wondering if they are decorative, functional or both.

Originally the keys were mobile and mounted on casters. Geddy could push them around stage as he sang; thus, he had to know what was behind him if were to back into his original spot stage left. Once the keys became fixed around the T4E tour, he left the mirrors up as a memento of how needlessly complicated Rush used to be.
