What would it be like... if Alex took over Geddy's stage banter?

The little Rush movies (or whatever you call them) at gigs are amusing but I'd even give up half of that time allotment if it meant ANOTHER 1-2 extra songs being played.

The length of these have nothing to do with how many songs are played in a show. More than likely 2 or 3 less songs are what you will see going forward as a concession to age.

Yeah, I always thought Alex should talk more during the concerts. I think it would be even better if there was stage banter between Alex and Geddy, and they could argue over something about the next song, or else trivial, and they would end it by asking Neil his opinion, and he would just shrug.

I think you just described the Rush In Rio animated film that plays behind them during By Tor.

I near this was on the Rush in Rio DVD as a special feature. Can someone post it?

I never said it did. I said "if"? Even so, how do you know it has "nothing to do with how many songs are played in a show"?

I would like to see Alex speak more. He's a funny guy and it may loosen the atmosphere more. I think artist/crowd interaction is important, and considering how many songs they play, I don't need 1 or 2 more.

I do like to hear Alex talk or make funny gestures, but sometimes he takes it too far..often feel real embarrassment for him.

There was one I remember watching on the DVD, about Alex saying: "Okay... this is the laaast time I introduce to you - my back-up band..!" And he goes on to mention 'The guy from Ipanema', something about Neil, and "I'm Stan Getz!" before they all launched into their music. :P And there was a lot of strange sounds coming from Alex into the microphone while Ged looked at him, trying to not smirk, and even Neil tried to get a better look at him too. Lord, that was funny!
