read an interview with bruce dickinson a while back, he listed his top 5 albums, and if my memory's correct, DP's made in japan was his #1

can't remember the specific albums but I remember led zeppelin, jethro tull, and arthur brown also being on the list

Bruce is definitely influenced by Gillan, and you can hear a little bit of him in his singing.

I found the list on some deep purple fanpage, it was:

deep purple - made in japan

led zeppelin - II

crazy world of arthur brown - crazy world of arthur brown

rainbow - rising

jethro tull - aqualung

This was the best version/timeframe of Deep Purple, IMO. I played Deep Purple in Rock over and over and over.... Ian Gillan was in his prime. RIP Jon Lord. Great topic, Treeduck

:haz: :guitar:

Agreed! Although all Purple eras offer quality material. :NP:

Agreed.

They were so great! Especially Mark II. Just wow! Ritchie! Jon! Paicey! Gillan! Glover!

Ritchie makes no mistakes. Ever. :notworthy:

And RIP, Jon :rose: We need a rocking Hammond organ emoticon. :haz:
