If you are on the fence trying to pick a Rush show this summer, i have a HIGHEST suggestion!

Rush is playing Summerfest in Milwaukee on the 4th of July. see www.summerfest.com (hint: its awesome)

But what is even BETTER news, is that there is a fantastic Rush Tribute Band, that will be playing on a stage NEAR the Real Rush show for 2 hours as an appetizer leading up to the REAL Rush .!!!

so its like a 5-6 hour Rush affair! I did this very same double whammy in 2010 at Summerfest on the TM tour. its heaven.

Here is the SummerFest link referencing the Tribute Band show with the run-up to the real show

And here is the website of the tribute band: (I have seen them multiple times, they are quite fantastic)

Trust me. Make the Drive/Flight, if you are picking a show. You get Two shows out of it !

Yep, I'm one of those still on the fence about this show. Thinking of buying a spare ticket from a fellow TRF'er. This might be the game changer for me! Thanks for the info!! :dweez:

I saw Animation when Rush last played Milwaukee on the Time Machine Tour. They were so good that when me and my father first heard them we thought it was Rush doing sound check.

Was it before "Geddy" started singing? If not, does your father wear hearing aids? The singer is atrocious.

Yeah it was before the singing. When we were coming in they were just starting Between the Wheels and we thought it was Rush. Then the singer came in and we realized it wasn't them.

I agree, musically they are damn good.

I did the Summerfest show back in 2010 and remember watching fireworks during the Moving Pictures set...kind of distracting. As I remember, the sound wasn't that great...and parking around there is a total cluster. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but I'm going to a different show.

Only crazy people and people from out of town drive down there. Everyone that lives in the area knows the shuttles are the way to go. Easy in, easy out for a few bucks. The flyers all have their own lanes in and out of Summerfest - no traffic.

Okay, I arranged to get a ticket for this! Now I gotta book the Badger bus from Madison! I'm not driving in with all the horror stories that I've heard! No way man! :scared: :scared:

We have 4 going, and it's still a better idea taking the bus. You drive and you pay for gas (a couple bucks) and parking (usually about $20). The Flyer for us is $6.50 round trip. $26 total. It may be a buck or 2 more that we would have spent driving, but the easy in, easy out is well worth it.

Those coming from out of town... I highly recommend the flyers:
