Ziggodome Amsterdam 02/06/2013

Ziggo is a bigger than Ahoy, think it's 14k compared to 9k, don't have the exact numbers. And that's why 2nd ring was closed (like I predicted that in topic when euro dates were announced). Sound was very good, less "echo" than Ahoy.

Facilities are all up to today's a standards. A nice venue, but I can't say it's waaaaay better than Ahoy.

I was surprised to see the 2nd ring closed off, because they were selling seats there. Guess nobody bought them, or was it intentional that they closed it off? Better sound or something?

Good venue. Loved the A'dam show. Only issue was the smoking area. A room, maybe 30 m², for thousands of people. Good thing was you just needed to inhale, without really smoking. :smoke:

I was in the back of the arena in ziggo and i got a question for people who were at the front rows. I've seen a couple of vids on yt and alex seems to be quite grumpy. He doesn't seem to smile at all, it even was mentioned in a newspaper review (parool or volkskrant not sure which one).

Did anyone notice something about alex??

Thanks for the info Greyfriar, I probably should have made the effort to go.

The smoking arrangements sound alright to me :smoke:

Regarding Ziggo Dome as a venue: I was somewhat happy they hadn't sold out the venue (at least when the show was over). It felt way too crowded at some point, and thought to myself "if panic breaks out in here, I'm dead meat". At one point the queue to the restrooms went across where people were trying to get out.

And that coin-system they use was annoying like hell. I had money on me and just wanted to get something to drink, and find a good spot in the hall.

But the sound was the best I have ever heard at a venue! Ziggo Dome is definitely a venue I will return too, if the right band comes along.

We were standing on Alex' side 1st part of the show (had to watch 2nd set from side cause the wife almost fainted), didn't think he was grumpy
