I may have responded before but who knows? My list might be a little different today. Rush is fluid and not a fixed object for me.

1. Permanent Waves.

2. Signals/MP Sorry have to cheat a little on this one.

3. Hemispheres.

4 2112

5. AFTK

Here's my list as of today, it tends to change a lot.

1. Hemispheres

2. Permanent Waves

3. Moving Pictures

4. A Farewell To Kings

5. Grace Under Pressure

#1 through #4 are basically set in stone for the most part, it's a toss up between about five or six albums to for #5.

I'll go ahead and post the whole thing, since everyone's doing it.

1. Counterparts

2. Grace Under Pressure

3. Signals

4. Hemispheres

5. Moving Pictures

6. Clockwork Angels

7. Power Windows

8. Permanent Waves

9. Snakes And Arrows

10. Vapor Trails

11. 2112

12. Test For Echo

13. A Farewell To Kings

14. Fly By Night

15. Caress Of Steel

16. Hold Your Fire

17. Roll The Bones

18. Presto

19. Rush

I wouldnt rate CP as 1, but I do honestly believe it is the most underrated album of their catalog. And I still want to hear Cut To The Chase live, because it is one hell of an awesome song!

1. Hemispheres, Moving Pictures, AFTK

4. p/g

5. CA or PoW

Honestly, 7 would probably be Signals, HYF (:o), or PeW. The funny thing is, a few weeks ago, I put HYF pretty much last, but it's really grown on me since then.

Also, am I the only one who doesn't have 2112 in my top 10? Sorry, it just doesn't really get to me, even the title track, though I see why others like it. It just seems a bit amateurish to me.

I don't have 2112 in my top 10, either. While I absolutely live the title track and Something For Nothing the other 4 songs to me aren't that great. Bangkok and Tears are okay, but I can't stand Twilight Zone or Lessons.

I think we must have had something dodgy in our water supply that day!

My honest top five selection, and pretty much always has been:

5. Hemispheres

4. 2112

3. Permanent Waves

2. Moving Pictures

1. A Farewell To Kings

Don't know how I ever came to the conclusion Presto or Test For Echo topped any if these (but I do really enjoy them!)

Say what you will about 2112, but "amateurish" certainly does NOT describe it. It's a masterfully done album with songwriting that most musicians cannot even hold a flame to

Ok, it's time for this old fave again. Always interested to see how they rank here and if the order has changed for anyone.

Hemi has jumped up to second but still cannot topple the perfection of MP for me...rank away then :NP:

:rush:

1. MP

2. Hemi

3. PeW

4. AFTK

5. 2112

:rush:

Swap Hemi and MP and you've got my list. Eeexcellenttt...

I must amend my top five list:

1. A Farewell To Kings

2. Hemispheres

3. Permanent Waves

4. Moving Pictures

5. Grace Under Pressure

:)

I have concluded that it is almost blasphemous to include Counterparts in this list.

You're right. Nothing "almost" about it. It is blasphemous.

But they got it into their collective heads they had to change with the times.

Pity.

Hold Your Fire? Seriously people?

Dude......lot's of Rush fans are Rush fans because of Hold Your Fire.

They have transcended 3 generations going on 4 brother.

That is the sign of an all time great band.

And Hold Your Fire is a brilliant album. f***ing brilliant.

I am personally amazed by how popular HYF is but whatever...the diversity of faves is always pleasing!

Hold Your Fire is unsung brilliance.

I wish it had been unsung.
