I'm so looking forward to this release. I remember being 10 years old and the excitement of listening to it. Not one album, not two albums, but three albums! McCartney is a musical treasure,

I remember being 10 years old and driving by the stadium in Chicago with my parents, and seeing the "sold out" on the marquee. I was shut out. Not this time :madra:

The deluxe job is fantastic! Pricy f*cker though...may wait for it to come down in price. Waited an age for the McCartney II & Ram box sets to come down, well worth the wait! Edited by Hatchetaxe&saw

It's mine ! I can only hope there is a bonus disk with nothing but Linda's backing vocals . Worth the price right there

Just ran over to Newbury Comics and picked mine up. I'm listening to Rock Show as I type this. God I love this album.

It is like Christmas here...

...my wife just purchased for me McCartney, McCartney II, Ram, Band on the Runa nd Wings Over America all in Deluxe format.

She said she didn't think I had any of them, so she wanted to complete my Paul McCartney collection so I could prime for the Paul McCartney gig in Brooklyn in two weeks.

Man, do I love that woman!

One of the inserts indicates Venus and Mars and Wings at the Speed of Sound are coming soon. I love Venus and Mars.

I didn't see the Deluxe version. What does that include?

Let me know how the Cow Palace stuff is.

I remember watching the TV special on a Friday night as a kid. My parents let me stay up for it. I was just beginning my love affair with The Beatles' music at the time (I was probably 9 or 10 I think). It was the first time I heard Maybe I'm Amazed, which remains one of my favorite songs of all time.

Venus and Mars is a wonderful album. Another totally underrated McCartney effort. I have nothing to prove this, but I always imagined Venus and Mars was the template for Queen's A Night at the Opera. A wonderful back to back listen.

Maybe I'm Amazed. Missed being a Beatles song by >this much<. Written while a Beatle. Amazing powerful song. Songs from the heart usually are.

Well WOW. I haven't heard this album all the way through in probably 30 years or more. I never had the original LP, I had the original cassette. I just ended up getting the regular 2 disc version however, since I can't have everything.

Just on first listen, it sounds good. I'm not sure I'd call it great. I swear I heard tape hiss. Most of it I heard with earphones. But it sounds good, real good. What a tour. Love the V&M/Rockshow/Jet open. Lady Madonna is wonderfully fast. Live and Let Die really got the hair standing up.. so powerful with the real live horns. What a great version. Yesterday was wonderful accompanied by horns. There's a real rawness in the performance on this tour. In a comforting way.

RIP Jimmy, a pretty cool guitarist who could sing. Joe English, very competent. Denny Laine gets 4 songs. Paul's voice sounded so good in 1975-6, and he really brings it on bass. His bass sounds good here, up in the mix. And how about that one-two encore punch of Hi Hi Hi and Soily. I mean, really, that happened. Paul use to pull shit out and not care about playing all the "must play" songs. And he features many songs from the then current album Wings At The Speed Of Sound. Like an artist trying to stay relevant and being proud of their latest album. Sound like anyone we know?

Looking forward to spending some quality time with this album. It's been so long. A literal Blast from the Past. :haz: :hail:

Great, great album. Every track comes alive, and, as noted, Paul's voice is perfect. I haven't shelled out the cash to get this re-boot, but you folks are selling me on it.
