The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe

Life, The Universe, And Everything

So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish

Mostly Harmless

Only after they make The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy first...... :eh: :eyeroll:

Uh...they did?!

Which is why we won't be seeing the sequels any time soon. It was done pretty poorly, more so than most movie adaptations.

I'm surprised The Killing Joke hasn't been adapted yet to the big screen or a two part episode or something. It would be very difficult to screw up -- especially since Mark Hamill said he'd come out retirement and voice Joker again if it's animated.

They tried to make it. What they ended up making was almost an insult to the book.

Revolutionary Road- A film was made a few years back, but it captured none of the raw emotion or poetry of the novel. It needs another go...amazing book, possibly unfilmable.

I never want good books to be made into movies, because movies so seldom do good books justice.

Though with that said, the coincidentally Rush-reference-laden Ready Player One by Ernest Cline could make a great movie if they did it right.

I've heard it's in the works.

Here is an interesting question, on the same topic - Sort of.

So in the 1990's John Grisham's first SEVEN books were made into films and grossed like a bazillion $$

But he has written 14 books since and NO films have been made. Are the books not interesting?

Is he still popular? Is is beating a deadhorse?

Seems strange

It was on tv the other day but missed it. I didn't realize there was a movie either.

I still stand by my original post:

The Harry Potter books. Now the series is finished in book form, they can start all over and make a great improvement from the very beginning.

Animated, and maybe even turn it into a telly show extravaganza.

Well?

Gerald's Game for me

Really would make for a sick, twisted, awesome, notorious Stephen King film

I'd love it.

:D

I've seen this listed as the most recent active topic in Turn the Page for quite some time (via board index) and each time I glanced at it I thought to myself, "man, what a stupid thread idea..." Joke's on me ;) :spitwater:

But yes, I stand by Gerald's Game and no other book. Especially with Serbian Film in existence as well as Halloween right around the corner, an idea of a film adaption of this one still appeals to me
